Bali Announces 3 New Strict Rules That Will Affect Your Next Trip

Travelers keep falling in love with Bali and many digital nomads are choosing this beautiful destination as their base.

It seems like the time this Indonesian Province had strict entry rules for tourists during the pandemic only made it more desirable, and since entry requirements were eased last year, tourists from all over the world rushed to this paradise.

However, the government is not entirely content with this tourism boom and has been implementing new rules and major changes affecting international travelers in the last few days.

Why? Well, there are multiple reasons.

One of them is that certain travelers have not been behaving properly and it has been publicly reported: from wild tourists getting naked next to sacred monuments to visitors driving scooters without a proper license.

Also, Viral TikToks have also been affecting Bali’s reputation and showing polluted beaches, dirty streets, and poor infrastructure, and local authorities are working hard to change this reputation.

Bali’s Governor Wayan Koster has officially announced new rules that will affect travelers in the upcoming days, including a list of Do’s and Don’ts for tourists.

These are the three main changes announced:

    1) Travelers Must Carry Official Licenses To Drive Scooters

Driving scooters is one of the most popular experiences in Bali and almost anyone could do it.

Driving scooters freely—wearing only swimsuits—, without a driver’s license and dealing with the crazy scooter traffic was among the most popular videos shared by digital nomads in the province.

While it is not legal to rent a scooter without a driver’s license, it became common knowledge that visitors could rent a scooter without an official permit as rules were pretty flexible and motorbike rentals were not obliged to verify if a tourist had a driver’s license.

    Well, not anymore.

Travelers must have an international driver’s license or the local permit, a SIM.

According to the information shared by The Bali Sun, to ensure that rules will be obeyed, a Tourism Task Force has been deployed in Bali to fine violators, in alliance with the traffic police.

Scooters must only be rented from only certified scooter providers.

    2) No One Can Step Foot On Mountains And Volcanoes

Governor Koster has made a more radical decision towards tourism activities in the mountains and volcanoes in Bali that will also affect locals.

As reported by The Bali Sun, It is now forbidden for everyone to visit any of Bali’s twenty-two mountains “unless there are religious ceremonies or disaster management and special activities that are not for tourism activities.”

This measure has been applied after foreign visitors were disrespectful towards the sacred mountains and nature.

Popular outdoor experiences like Mount Batur trekking are now banned, affecting nature lovers and locals that relied on these tourism experiences.

    3) Visitors Can Only Stay At Registered Hotels And Villas

Travelers must be careful when booking their accommodation in Bali.

Officials in Bali announced there will be consequences for those staying at accommodations that do not pay taxes —including Airbnb, guesthouses, B&Bs, and guesthouses— and there could be investigations or raids taking place soon.

Tourists staying at official hotels and other registered accommodations shouldn’t have any problem.

However, it can affect digital nomads or villa renters that have arranged informal stays with friends, family or locals.

Visitors should make sure that the property has business credentials and double-check with owners that they have the right permits to avoid any risk.

About The New Do’s And Don’ts

Governor Koster had previously announced a list of do’s and don’ts for travelers and the official guidelines have been recently published

Certain rules are just common sense for respectful travelers —but due to recent incidents, authorities thought they should clarify.

travelers gathered to admire sunset at the beach in Bali

As mentioned in the list of “do’s’ ‘, tourists must respect sacred nature and religious symbols, as well as Balinese culture and its people, and dress accordingly when visiting holy spaces, in public spaces, and tourist attractions.

Other rules are related to the three main changes, and there’s also been a currency reminder: travelers must pay in Indonesian rupiah, use the Indonesian Standard QR Code, and exchange foreign currency at authorized businesses and banks.

    credit card payment

Regarding the “don’ts” list, it has been mentioned that travelers can’t enter holy spaces in temples except for praying and wearing traditional Balinese clothes —women must not have their period.

Travelers can’t touch or climb sacred trees, pollute, or use single-use plastic.

Other rules mentioned just emphasize good behavior and want visitors to not spread hate speeches or act aggressively.

In general, these guidelines just reinforce existing laws and remind travelers to be respectful.

Jet Blue Announces New Cheap Flights Starting At $39: Here’s How To Get Yours

The American low-cost airline JetBlue Airways announced on Tuesday a new promotion with ultra-low fares for American travelers. The Big Fall Sale, as the company calls this offer, allows customers to purchase flights for as low as $39 and also book great package deals including roundtrips and hotel nights.

All deals will be available until August 30 at midnight. Customers can use the carrier search tool and find the best fares for national and international destinations. Travelers can also choose from great bundle options.

Here’s what travelers should know about the sale and a quick guide on how to find the best deals and take advantage of JetBlue’s Fall sale.

What Travelers Should Know About The Big Fall Sale

Before jumping into booking flights or waiting for too long, those interested in the Big Fall Sale should first understand the terms and conditions. These are the main considerations:

    • The special prices expire next Tuesday 30 at 11:59 pm.
    • The sale applies for travel from September 6 through November 16 and excludes Fridays and Sundays.
    • The lowest fares apply to Blue Basic.
    • Fares are one-way and non-stop unless mentioned otherwise.
    • Tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

The carrier has clarified that prices include taxes and fees. However certain services and considerations apply and might vary depending on the route. For example, travel windows, blackout dates, or choosing different days can affect fare prices or availability. Some flights do not operate during the sale window or on certain days.

Fares are subject to limited availability and might change without notice. Once you select an attractive option, the final price might change depending on availability. If you are sure about the day and destination, like the final price, and want to take advantage of the deal, book your flight as soon as possible!

    How To Get Cheap Fares

By default, JetBlue’s Big Fall Sale page features deals from New York City. Travelers will be able to see some low fare prices like flights from New York to Boston for just $49 for one way and a vacation package of two nights in a hotel and roundtrip flights for just $265.

Once you click on your preferred choice, the platform gives you more details. For example, if you choose the vacation package, it shows that the hotel would be the Hyatt House Boston Waltham which has 3 out of 5 stars on Trip Advisor.

If you are interested, you can click on the button “Select Dates”, JetBlue’s platform will show date alternatives for the bundle. However, that special price of $265 is no longer available.

The quickest and most accurate strategy would be to see all deals from your preferred city. You just have to click on the pencil next to the city name to choose your preferred location.

JetBlue has deals for over 60 airports in the United States and also for destinations in Canada, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. But not all locations have many options for this Fall sale.

Let’s say you live in the Los Angeles area. The platform will show great deals like flights to Las Vegas for just $39 and hotel and roundtrip flights starting at $63. When selecting the flight option, the page will show a calendar with the different prices available, and you will usually find the promised low fares.

From our search, when selecting the bundle, prices tend to differ. The cheapest option for the Excalibur Hotel and Casino featured at $63 including two nights and flights, is now $90.80 per night, for a total of $181.59 for two nights for two travelers. Travelers get to choose from free room options or special rooms with extra costs ranging from $1.12 per night to $11.20.

There’s a resort fee warning of $25 and extra fees for parking. Travelers must remember that Las Vegas is known for its hidden hotel fees and this might not be the exemption.

There might be some extra fees that must be paid at the hotel, but JetBlue’s final price was still $181.59 after selecting the cheapest flights. It’s your turn to book your best deals!

  • Princess Cruises Announces New Bids For Cabin Upgrades And Norwegian Launches 40% Off Sale

Princess Cruises Announces New Bids For Cabin Upgrades And Norwegian Launches 40% Off Sale

    [ad_1]

    Share The Article

    Last Updated

Two major cruise companies have been applying different strategies to stay competitive in the cruise market and here’s what travelers should know.

Princess Cruises —the American cruise line owned by the Carnival Corporation— just introduced a new bidding program. The company will allow guests to bid for cabin upgrades on selected cruise ships starting September 6.

Norwegian Cruise Line, on the other hand, is currently offering 40% off all cruises and fly-cruises until August 22. The offer applies for all accommodations and includes routes like the Canary Islands from November 2022, inactive since 2017.

Both companies are offering great deals for cruise lovers, but there are a few details travelers should consider.

    Princess New Bidding Program

A few weeks ago, Princess Cruises announced 47 itineraries for 2023 and 2024 and now the company is offering passengers the possibility to travel more comfortably with a new bidding system.

The new bidding program will allow guests to upgrade to a cabin with an ocean view, a balcony, a deluxe balcony, a mini-suite, or a full suite. Depending on their budget, travelers will get to submit an offer from a certain price point.

John Padgett, Princess President, said: “Upgrading is a popular request from our guests and we’re pleased to deliver a process that lets them improve their stateroom category by making an offer that fits their budget and lifestyle.”

According to the information shared by Cruise Hive, guests will receive an email with an invitation to participate. Bids will be priced per person, but the stateroom will be available for two guests. After sending their bids, participants will receive another email informing if their bid has been accepted and they get the upgrade or if it was denied and they just stay at their original stateroom.

The new stateroom upgrade system will be implemented on five cruises that sail from the US first: Regal Princess, Ruby Princess, Caribbean Princess, Discovery Princess, and Enchanted Princess. By October, Princess Cruise Line expects to apply this system to all of its fleets.

The company is making its cruise experience more pleasant for travelers and finding strategies to create more inclusive programs. The cruise line also recently updated COVID-19 protocols and has removed vaccine requirements for most itineraries.

    Norwegian’s 40% Discount

Travelers must act fast if they want to take advantage of this promotion. Those who have been thinking about sailing could have a great opportunity to book an itinerary at a great price. Norwegian’s 40% discount applies for all destinations until next Monday.

The company has also included its “Free at Sea” upgrade package —which costs around $175— and offers travelers great advantages like free wifi, free guided tours, unlimited drinks, and more.

Norwegian Cruise currently has itineraries in Alaska, across the Caribbean, and the Mediterranian Sea. The vessel Norwegian Sun currently has 8 to 14 days itineraries that include the Canaries and stops at Portugal, Spain, and Morocco. Norwegian Prima, another great ship from this cruise line, has itineraries in 2023 that include transatlantic sailing from New York to Reykjavik, Iceland.

The cruise line is also offering travelers airfare credit, up to $300 per person on selected routes in Europe. All these promotions will be available until next Monday.

    Competitive Cruise Lines

Woman Facing Cruise Ship From Dock

Travelers must decide which promotion is a better fit for their travel plans. And while the cruise industry seems to be going “back to normal” with fewer COVID-19 restrictions and more sailing routes available, Princes Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line have also recently canceled sailings.

Just a few days ago, Princess Cruises canceled 11 itineraries due to staff shortage, labeled  “labor challenges” by the company. And this week, Norwegian Cruise Line canceled sailings planned for 2023 and 2024 due to supply chain delays. Both companies have offered compensation for customers, but might be an important factor to consider when choosing a cruise line service and promotion.

Air Canada Announces They Are Cancelling Over 9000 Flights This Summer

    [ad_1]

    Share The Article

    Last Updated

Prospective travelers have been dealt a further blow this week with the news that Air Canada is now canceling over 9000 flights this summer, leaving the travel plans of thousands of people in jeopardy. The announcement was made just yesterday, with the Air Canada’s CEO sending an email to customers of the airline, and is set to leave those with travel plans this summer scrambling to find out if their flight is affected and what they can do if it is.

What was once looking like a positive summer full of travel after years of pandemic related disruptions now looks as though it will descend into chaos, with Air Canada the latest of several airlines to announce sweeping cuts to their planned summer flight schedules. Here’s a look at Air Canada’s decision to trim more than 9000 flights this summer, including why it is happening, which type of flights are set to be affected and where customers stand with regards to compensation.

Air Canada Announces Cancellations – Information For Travelers

The sheer number of cancellations affecting various different airlines across North America has left the so-called record breaking summer of travel at risk of even taking off. Due to myriad factors, airlines on both sides of the US-Canada border have been forced to delay or cancel thousands of their flights, as they struggle to match the increasing demand for flights from the travel-starved populace – and Air Canada is the latest to disappoint.

Air Canada is set to substantially lower its overall flight offerings this summer. At present, the Canadian flag-carrying airline is currently operating around 1,000 flights per day. However, it has plans to reduce this figure by an average of 154 flights per day throughout the months of July and August – a move that will reduce their overall number of flights offered this summer by more than 9,000, a significant reduction.

The cancellations come as there is a major strain on the aviation industry, brought about by the sheer number of travelers flying at present. The unprescented number of travelers choosing to fly this summer has left the airline unable to provide customers with their normal standards of care, leading them to make the decision to cut flights to preserve a higher level of service. In his letter to customers, Air Canada’s President and CEO Michael Rousseau wrote that whilst many of these issues were anticipated and planned for, the airline must still cut thousands of flights in order to maintain its operational stability and reduce passenger numbers to levels that the airline can accommodate.

Some flights are set to be more affected by the cancellations than others. Amongst the routes that are the most affected are flights to and from Toronto Pearson International Airport and Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, and in particular flights that take part during the evening and late at night on Air Canada’s smaller aircraft. Some routes are to be cut altogether, such as the routes between Montreal and Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Kelowna, and Toronto and Fort McMurray.

It’s not all bad news for travelers. It’s expected that the latest cuts will only affect domestic flights, with no reductions planned for the airline’s current international flight offerings. Air Canada has slowly been rebuilding its international flight network, and last week it became the first airline to offer a non-stop flight to Thailand in ten years when it announced flights between Vancouver and Bangkok starting in December.

Thankfully for travelers, those who are scheduled to be on flights that are canceled by Air Canada will get their money back. According to the airline’s policies, travelers will be either rebooked on to another flight or offered the chance to receive a full refund. On top of this, the Canadian government announced last week that it would ensure travelers would receive reimbursements for all canceled flights, regardless of the reason for the cancellation – making sure that travelers are well protected as we head into an uncertain and chaotic travel period.

French Bee Airline Announces $281 Nonstop Flights From Miami To Paris

    [ad_1]

French Bee Airline, France’s first budget long-haul carrier, will be launching new direct flights from Miami International Airport to Paris Orly Airport beginning this December. Fares will start at $281 each way for a basic economy ticket and $641 for a premium economy ticket. The flight will operate three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with plans to scale to four flights a week by the following April.

    French Bee Aircraft Taking Off

Travelers will leave Miami at 9 pm and arrive in Paris at 11:40 am, allowing those who can sleep on planes the opportunity to adjust to the new time zone quickly. There is no need to rush to the airport for the trip back as the return flight from Paris will leave at 2:30 pm and arrive in Miami at 6:45 pm. Total flight time from Miami to Paris will be 8 hours and 45 minutes, while the flight back to Miami from Paris will take 10 hours and 25 minutes.

Traveler with Luggage On Bridge Looking At Eiffel Tower

Those who travel light will love the prices of French Bee‘s basic economy tickets, starting at $281 each way. If flying in basic economy, passengers are allowed to bring one 26lb carry-on bag. While this sounds very small, a 26lb bag can be more than enough for a quick getaway to Paris if packed correctly. For those who need more luggage, French Bee allows passengers to customize their ticket by upgrading to a ‘smart’ ticket which allows a 50lb checked bag and includes an in-flight meal. For those with even more luggage, upgrading to a ‘premium’ ticket allows for two 50lb checked bags and includes two in-flight meals, complimentary drinks, premium seats, and priority boarding.

    Arc de Triomphe in Paris

The new flight addition comes after four years of success in the U.S. market, which began with a direct flight from San Francisco to Paris and Tahiti in 2018. After several years of successfully operating flights out of San Francisco, French Bee added two more routes to Paris, flying out of Los Angeles and New York. With the latest flight offering coming out of Miami, French Bee is gaining a better foothold in the U.S. market as a wonderful option for those seeking nonstop flights to Paris.

    Notre Dame Exterior

“Paris remains one of the most desired international destinations in the world for South Floridians and with the continued growth that Miami is witnessing, we are confident that this is the best market for our first Southeast route. We are excited about this expansion as we know that passengers will find value in booking competitive prices in the market,” said French Bee President Marc Rochet in a press release. And while the company may be excited about the new flight, travelers are sure to be even more eager for the new offering.

    The Louvre Exterior

Paris is a well-known destination that almost every traveler has on their bucket list. It is one of the most visited cities in Europe and is home to many famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame cathedral. French cuisine is some of the best in the world, and the café culture is a highlight of Paris for many visitors. No matter what sort of traveler, there is something for everyone in the beautiful French capital.

    Eiffel Tower

While it’s clear that a stay in Paris will be an unforgettable experience, what about the time spent aboard French Bee’s aircraft? Currently, French Bee only flies Airbus A350s, which are considered to be a very modern aircraft. To reduce jet lag, the plane is equipped with mood lighting that will simulate the sunrise and sunset. The A350s are also considered very quiet compared to other aircraft, which helps reduce fatigue from long flights. All seats include USB ports and electrical plugs, large screens for in-flight entertainment, and headphone jacks.

    Paris Cafe

For travelers on a budget, or those looking for a direct flight to Paris, French Bee’s new route offering shouldn’t disappoint. Bookings are already being accepted for December 15th and beyond, and rates are still low.

    The Current Offers:

    • 1 month pass: €335
    • 2 month pass: €366
    • 3 month pass: €451

Travelers can pay slightly extra and travel via first class. For example, the 3-month pass costs €601 instead of €451 for three months continuous travel around Europe.

Travelers can buy the passes now via the Interrail website and can immediately begin using the passes. However, travelers can opt for a paper copy of the pass if they’re uncertain about technology.

The Interrail mobile app, however, offers:

    • Free, instant delivery to the application.
    • A free replacement if travelers lose or break their phones.
    • No need for travelers to select their travel dates until they begin traveling.

Important tip: Flash sale passes are not refundable or exchangeable and cannot be purchased in combination with Plus.

What Does The Interrail Pass Cover?

The Interrail pass is a train ticket that allows travelers to board most trains in Europe. Travelers will enjoy access to 40 railway and ferry companies in 33 European nations. What’s more, travelers can board most trains by simply showing the rail pass to staff at the train station.

Some train companies require travelers to purchase additional seat reservations—such as the Eurostar from London to Mainland Europe. You can check out the Interrail reservation service here.

    Who Can Travel With Interrail?

European citizens and non-European citizens who are official legal residents—including British travelers (despite Brexit)—can use the Interrail pass. Non-European travelers, however, can’t use the Interrail pass.

But don’t worry: there are other options for American tourists, and we’ll go over the options below.

Eurail passes are popular for non-European visitors; they work just like the Interrail passes.

Alternatively, American tourists can travel within Europe via bus. There are some very affordable bus companies—such as Flixbus—offering extremely affordable prices continent-wide.

Or, American travelers can fly around Europe with the various budget airlines. These include Ryanair, Easyjet, and Wizz Air. If travelers book in advance, such as one month before their trip, they can find extremely affordable flights around Europe. Airline tickets can be as low as $5 or $10, but of course you’ll want to see what they charge for things like baggage and seat selection before you book.

    The COVID-19 Situation In Europe

Most of Europe has dropped COVID-19 restrictions—including entry requirements and internal COVID-19 restrictions. Although some nations still require travelers to wear masks indoors.

Vaccine passports were widespread around Europe in 2021, including in France and Italy, but most of Europe has ended vaccine passports to enter indoor events or venues.

    Final Thoughts

The Interrail pass at half price is an incredible offer. With freedom of movement returning to Europe and the summer months approaching, there’s never been a better time to buy the pass and explore the great continent.

Travelers can also participate in the airline’s “1 Year Anniversary Sweepstakes” to earn free flights for a year

Avelo Airlines, the ultra-low-cost carrier headquartered in Houston, recently announced 5 new routes in the United States as part of their anniversary celebration.  In June and July, the airline will be offering non-stop flights on the East Coast, connecting Orlando, Charleston, Washington, and Wilmington.

The carrier is celebrating its first anniversary —it was launched just a few days before its competitor Breeze Airways— and also announced that it will be opening a third base at Orlando International Airport (MCO)

To celebrate this accomplishment, the carrier is offering ultra-low promotional one-way fares, starting at $29, including taxes and fees! But travelers must book soon, the anniversary fares are limited and expire on May 5. Customers must also remember that this is a low-cost service, and that other fees —like carry on, checked bags, and assigned seats— do apply.

Andrew Levy —Avelo Airlines Founder, Chairman, and CEO— said, “Avelo is poised for continued growth as we add more planes, more Crew Members, more destinations, and more bases — including our new base in Orlando. I’m very appreciative of the warm reception The Sunshine State has greeted Avelo with since we began flying here last November. I’m looking forward to the positive economic and community impact Avelo will make in Orlando and across Florida as we increase our investment here in the years ahead.”

As part of their celebration, Avelo Airlines is currently promoting its “1 Year Anniversary Sweepstake” in which customers can win one year of free flights for two. Travelers interested in participating must follow the airline on Instagram and tag two friends in the comments. All details and rules are available on the company’s official site.

For being an airline not many have heard of, Avelo actually has quite an impressive route system, and it’s still growing.

Two vessels, the Celebrity Solstice and the Celebrity Millenium, will serve coastal routes starting in September

The giant cruise line Celebrity Cruises —based in Miami— recently announced new vessel deployments. Two of their ships, the Celebrity Solstice and the Celebrity Millenium will start serving fresh routes, starting in September 2022.

The Celebrity Solstice is coming to the United States from Asia after its previous program for winter 2022 was canceled. According to the information shared at Cruise Radio, it was scheduled to sail to Tokyo, Singapore, and Hong Kong, but the company decided to suspend the route due to “uncertainty” in the region.

Instead, now the Celebrity Solstice—a large vessel with the capacity to host up to 2,850 passengers— will take over the route of the Celebrity Millenium and will now sail the Mexican Riviera, including stops at top destinations like Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan, a few itineraries will even include Cabo San Lucas.

According to the information shared in Seatrade Cruise News, now the Celebrity Millenium will sail through the Caribbean. Celebrity Cruise will offer a Riviera Maya program after an 8-year gap.

The cruise company also announced recently the launch of a new vessel to its fleet, the Celebrity Beyond, with the capacity to host nearly 3,000 passengers. Now travelers will have more options to cruise the Pacific Coast, from Los Angeles to Mexico, and even explore more exotic international destinations.

    All About The Itineraries

The Celebrity Solstice will no longer serve Asia this year and instead will have two main itineraries through the Riviera Maya and across the Pacific Coast.

From September 2022 until April  2023, the Celebrity Solstice will be offering travelers five, seven, and eight nights itineraries from Los Angeles, California, to the Mexican Riviera. The routes include Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Ensenada. Selected itineraries will also include Cabo San Lucas.

This vessel will also serve Pacific Coastal itineraries and cruise from Ensenada (Mexico) to Vancouver (Canada), including stops in attractive destinations like Monterrey, San Francisco, and Catalina Island.

From October to December 2022, the Celebrity Millenium—a vessel with the capacity to host up to 2,038 passengers at 100%—  will be cruising the Caribbean with longer routes.

The Celebrity Millenium will sail week-long routes, making stops at fascinating destinations like Nassau, St, Thomas, and Barbados, starting in October 2022 until the end of the year.

Celebrity Cruises will also offer a special 15-night itinerary onboard the Celebrity Millenium, departing from San Diego, California, to offer clients the opportunity to cruise through the Panama Canal and make stops at Puerto Vallarta, Puntarenas, Oranjestad, and reach the final destination, San Juan, in Puerto Rico.

What You Must Know About Celebrity’s Covid Protocols

Travelers must stay informed and review all requirements and current measures before purchasing or boarding for the next cruise adventure. According to recent information shared by the online site Cruise Fever, Celebrity Cruises extended its health protocols—for cruises departing from the United States— until May 31 this year.

Passengers boarding vessels currently operating such as the Celebrity Silhouette, the Celebrity Apex, or the Celebrity Edge, must present a negative COVID-19 test result; it can be an antigen or a PCR test, but must be performed within two days prior to departure.

Unvaccinated children from the ages of two to eleven must also provide a negative result within three days before boarding. Vaccinated travelers must show proof of full vaccination, and unvaccinated travelers can also provide a valid certificate of recovery. The certificate must meet certain requirements such as proof of the positive case of at least 11 days and no more than 90 days, the provider’s information, and confirmation of recovery.

Depending on the destination, entry requirements may vary according to local laws. Travelers must also bear in mind that if they don’t comply with the measures of each homeport country, they might not be allowed to disembark.
