Disney fans have something familiar to look forward to this month. Walt Disney World just announced they are bringing back popular annual passes.

These passes were a fan favorite for Disney lovers but were previously discontinued over a year ago.

The mammoth family entertainment company posted a blog earlier this week with exciting details of what’s to come in Orlando’s main attraction.

Many former pass holders have practically been begging for the return of these passes. Disney officials confirmed, ”we heard you loud and clear!”.

What Disney Fans Will Receive With An Annual Pass

Beginning April 20, passes can be purchased online directly through Disney’s official website.

Although, quantities will be limited. The expectation is for certain passes to sell out quickly!

Those who are able to snag a pass in time will benefit greatly from the new amenities. Disney has taken feedback from prior users and made necessary changes to make this re-launch a hit!

Starting April 18, those with an Annual Pass will have access to theme parks after 2 pm without needing to make a reservation, with the exception of the Magic Kingdom on weekends.

Currently, Disney does sell $399 annual passes, but it is limited to residents of Florida for the Pixie Dust pass.

So, this will not be a new addition to the lineup. Current Pixie Dust consumers will have the option to upgrade once passes become available for sale online.

The upcoming passes will have a big jump in pricing but will offer many perks for its users.

Many new attractions are underway. With a new luxury hotel coming soon and the exciting revamp of Annual Passes, Disney enthusiasts will have a lot to take in!

Those who take advantage of the new passes can expect:

    • Journey of the Water in Epcot
    • TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom
    • Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom
    • Disney’s Animal Kingdom celebrates their 25th anniversary

    Disney Pirate Pass

First, Disney will launch the Disney Pirate Pass. This pass is one step above the current Pixie Pass in terms of how it will benefit guests.

Just like the Pixie Pass, this option is limited only to those with a Florida address.

    disney souvenirs

    Main benefits:

    • Discounts on souvenirs, food, and more
    • Hold reservations for up to 4 days at a time
    • Vacationers staying at select hotels can add additional reserved times
    • Admission to Disney World theme parks on most weekdays (some limitations may apply)

Pricing for this pass will be $749 plus taxes. Financing options are available.

    Disney Sorcerer Pass

Next in line with more perks than the Pirate Pass is the new Sorcerer Pass. This pass is not limited to Florida residents, as Disney Vacation Club members are also welcome to purchase.

Vacation Club members will actually have access to a pre-sale on April 13 as part of their membership privileges.

    Disney Logo

This pass has the exact benefits of the Pirate Pass. However, instead of holding reservations for 4 days, Sorcerer pass holders will be able to extend that by an extra day.

In addition, they will also have theme park parking perks to start a fun day off right.

Pricing for this pass will be $969 plus taxes. Financing options are available.

    Disney Incredi-Pass

Anyone anywhere is free to purchase the highly anticipated Disney Incredi-Pass. Blockout dates apply to both the Pirate and Sorcerer varieties.

The Incredi-Pass, however, does not have any blockout date restrictions at all. Users will also be able to hold theme park reservations for up to 5 days.

Pricing for this high-end pass will be $1399 plus taxes. Financing options are available.

For a more comprehensive understanding of each individual pass, Disney has provided a chart comparing all 4 pass options.

This tool will make it easier for shoppers to make the right decision for them.

  • 5 Reasons Why Orlando Is Such A Popular Destination Besides Walt Disney World

5 Reasons Why Orlando Is Such A Popular Destination Besides Walt Disney World

    [ad_1]

    Share The Article

Orlando, Florida, is a popular destination known mainly for its theme parks, but that’s quickly changing. The City Beautiful started developing its sense of culture separate from Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando Resort.

Orlando, Florida, USA skyline at Eola Lake.

Last year, Michelin awarded the city four Michelin stars (one at each location), with two stars going to restaurants apart from any theme park. This shows that the city is growing, and there is a developing interest in it outside the theme parks.

While Orlando isn’t as developed as other major towns like New York City or Los Angeles, it’s quickly catching up with distinct neighborhoods and tons of gastronomic destinations ranging from street food to fine dining. Hotels are popping up around town with missions of attracting the non-Disney traveler, and its LGBTQ+ scene is becoming one of the biggest in the U.S.

The city of Orlando is one to keep an eye on, and here are five reasons why Orlando is such a popular destination besides Walt Disney World:

    @where2nextorlando What are your favorite Orlando things to do? #orlando #orlandothingstodo #where2next #where2nextorlando #orlandoflorida #orlandoadventures #orlandoexperience #centralflorida #centralfloridalife #fun #MakeItGucci #MaiselChallenge #orlandofl #citybeautiful #orangecounty ♬ umm.. yeah – andrew

    Neighborhoods

Orlando has always had diverse neighborhoods, but now they are becoming nationally known. Places like Creative Village in Downtown Orlando are constantly on TV due to their quickly developing status as a place to do business, live in, and study.

Local universities Valencia and the University of Central Florida have moved some of their dorms there. New restaurants like The Monroe have opened, giving travelers and locals a reason to visit. EA Sports moved a section of their corporate employment to the area, providing a basis for local young adults graduating from either university a reason to stay in the place. Recently at Luminary Green Park, 12 memorials were erected for local black pioneers of the neighborhood before the name change.

Other neighborhoods like Lake Nona are growing at an exaggerated rate. Places like Boxi Park and the Lake Nona Wave Hotel give locals and travelers a reason to head over with innovative food options and plenty of things to do.

The Lake Nona Wave Hotel recently opened during the pandemic and has a sculpture garden with pieces from famous artists like Fernando Botero and Arturo Di Modica. This is giving Orlando neighborhoods a distinctive vibe that is becoming nationally known.

    Gastronomy

As mentioned, two Michelin stars were awarded in Orlando, belonging to Kadence and Soseki. Both are sushi spots, and they are a must-visit if you’re in town. Other destinations like Mills 50 are growing incredibly fast.

New restaurants and bars are opening almost weekly, with some having a distinctive style. Take Haan Coffee Roasters, a Korean new-age coffee shop with interiors done by GDPdesignbuild, giving the space a strong sense of Korean architectural traditions combined with modernity. It’s a favorite among locals to work at and meet for coffee.

EDOBOY, a standing sushi restaurant, just opened this year and has a lot of buzz surrounding it. The restaurant is creating a new style of Omakase, giving Orlando more notoriety in this area. Other literal cool spots are Sampaguita Ice Cream, a Filipino-inspired ice cream shop that has lines wrapped around the building daily.

    Nightlife

If drinking with many children running around you differs from your vibe, avoid the theme parks and check out some of these places. Spots like AC Sky Bar at the AC Hotel by Marriott Orlando Downtown have a strict no-kid policy and offer fantastic cityscape views of Orlando.

Drinks are affordable and creative, and this place is one of the first bars altering the makeup of the Downtown Orlando drinking scene. More casual than other bars, this is an excellent spot to chill.

    @foodie.girly Coolest place to hangout! #orlando #orlandospots #acskybar #skybar #orlandocity #weekendvibes ♬ Please Don’t Go – Mike Posner

Other places like The Moderne just opened and offer a tapas-like menu with imaginative cocktails and a trendy scene. New sites like Bellhop offer a more upscale environment for those seeking a good cocktail. Its decor mirrors Orlando’s past and is part of a new wave of bars opening up in the area. If mocktails are more your thing, check out The BANDBOX. It’s Orlando’s first non-alcoholic tasting lounge with regular live musical performances.

    @cheatdayorl ????new to Orlando! ????the Moderne #orlando #orlandoflorida #orlandofood #orlandofoodie #mills50district ♬ cardigan – Taylor Swift

Orlando is reshaping itself as a place to visit if you like good food, great cocktails, and exciting art. The city is growing, and we expect it to be one of the U.S. top destinations (not because of a theme park) in the coming years. Check it out soon.

  • Disney To Launch Newest Cruise Ship – Here’s What Travelers Can Expect

Disney To Launch Newest Cruise Ship – Here’s What Travelers Can Expect

    [ad_1]

    Last Updated

Disney Cruise Line is finally all set to launch its newest cruise ship, having taken receipt of the vessel during the week. When it comes to travel, few experiences can match the magic, wonder and memories that are provided by a Disney vacation, with fun for all the family all but a guarantee – and the experience is just as magical out on the open seas as it is at a Disney theme park

Whether a Disneyphile, a cruise lover or simply a wanderlust traveler, the addition of a new ship to Disney’s fleet has something for all types of travelers to get excited about.

Here’s what travelers can expect from Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, including what kind of amenities it will have on board, which destinations it will be sailing to and how the magic of the happiest place on Earth is recreated on the waves.

Disney’s Latest Ship – Information For Travelers

Founded in 1995, Disney Cruise Line might not be the biggest name in the cruise industry, but it might just be the most loved. Sailing a number of different routes, such as along the Pacific Coast, the Caribbean and Europe, Disney Cruise Line currently has four ships in its fleet – Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy – but very soon, its total number of vessels will grow to five.

After years of waiting for the completion of the building process and test sailing events, Disney Cruise Line finally took ownership of their latest mega-ship, Disney Wish, which is the first of several planned Triton class ships for the company. The ship is scheduled to arrive at Port Canaveral on June 20th, before setting sail later on this year – much to the delight of Disney and cruise fans across the country.

As one may expect, Disney touches can be found all over the ship, from subtle motifs to immersive experiences. Each of the ship’s staterooms are “equipped with innovations that ensure the ultimate in comfort and relaxation for Guests of all ages”, and allow guests to relax in the utmost comfort whilst still tastefully carrying on the Disney theme throughout.

On board Wish, guests can expect to receive the royal Disney treatment. Kids both big and small can look forward to the world’s first Frozen-themed theatrical dining experience, where they will be treated to musical numbers by Elsa and Olaf whilst enjoying hearty Norwegian-inspired cuisine, all in honor of celebrating the engagement of Queen Anna and Kristoff. If that doesn’t float your boat, there’s also the Marvel cinematic dining experience, where you can look forward to meeting your favorite superheroes whilst enjoying top-quality cuisine.

The ship is packed full of things to do for people of ages. From Disney’s first attraction at sea, AquaMouse, to six different swimming pools and a specially designed Toy Story zone, Disney has pulled out all the stops for Disney Wish. Kids can enjoy a stellar Kids Club on Disney Wish, giving them the chance to meet their Disney favorites and enjoy a wide range of fun activities.

For adults, there are a series of subtly decorated Disney bars and restaurants to enjoy, including the Star Wars-themed Hyperspace Lounge and the Cinderella-esque Nightingale’s piano bar – though there are also several regular joints to enjoy when it all gets a bit too much. Quiet Cove is an adult-only district, complete with an infinity pool, bar, and cafe, providing the perfect place to slink away and enjoy being at sea.

The ship’s maiden voyage from Florida is scheduled July 14th, and will include a water salute to mark the occasion. Following that, it will leave for regular three and four-night sailings through to Nassau, The Bahamas, and Disney’s own island, Castaway Cay. With flight and hot prices reaching record highs, cruises are a top alternative for travelers – and the Disney Wish will be hard to beat.

As Covid retreats and different countries move towards treating the virus as an endemic disease, several public and private entities have also started rolling back pandemic-era mandates. Now, it’s Walt Disney World’s turn to scrap mandatory mask usage across its parks.

The popular holiday destination, which attracts millions of visitors every year, has been tilting back and forth with restrictions over the last two years, as it struggled to keep up with both statewide curbs in Florida and mandates at a national level.

Although it initially removed the mask requirement only for vaccinated parkgoers, now the land of fairytales is dropping the rule altogether:

Visitors No Longer Required To Wear Face Coverings

Disney World has been moving away from its stricter Covid policies, which generally involved mask wearing and social distancing. Back in November 2021, park authorities even considered requiring all staff to get vaccinated against Covid, though those plans never came to fruition.

Disney World Entrance Sign, Disney Parks, Florida, US

Following months of enforcing mask usage only among unvaccinated guests, after those who are fully immunized became exempt from wearing them as soon as February, Walt Disney World has since April 18 officially abolished masks for all, irrespective of vaccination status.

This means those who are planning to visit the parks in the upcoming weeks or over summer will no longer need to pack extra face masks, wear them indoors at restaurants or public transportation, when going on rides, or outdoor spaces.

Tourists Arriving To Epcot, Disney World, Florida, US

Visiting Disney is again like it once was prior to March 2020.

Does This Apply Only To The Florida Parks?

Besides the lifting of the mask requirement, visitors will also be allowed to be closer to their childhood heroes, as meet-and-greets with iconic characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and the princesses are due to return to all Disney parks and attractions in the US. They include:

    • Disneyland
    • Walt Disney World
    • Disney Cruises
    • Aulani Resort in Hawaii
Disney World Parks Seen At Night

Prior to April, in order to protect its staff, Disney clamped down on face-to-face meets. Hugs, signing, and all forms of close up interactions between staff working as Disney characters and guests have also either been forbidden or strongly discouraged.

This all changes as of April 2022.

Other Companies Are Also Dropping Their Mask Mandates

Female Driver Wearing A Face Mask While Driving

The news follows the overturning of the federal mask mandate by a Florida judge earlier this week, who deemed the CDC had ‘overstepped its authority’ on the matter. The judge’s decision has been noted to influence airlines to relax their own mask policies, including Delta and United Airlines.

The judge’s ruling might also have encouraged Disney to change its stance on masks, as the company had been juggling both state and federal requirements, and dissatisfied customers who strongly opposed mask mandates.

    Disney Castle Theme Park

Similarly to Disney, others such as Uber and `Lyft have also recently lifted their mask rules for both drivers and riders, adding to the list of US-based companies that are now returning to a pre-pandemic state of normality, and allowing customers to assess their own Covid risks.

Despite having joined the overall reopening trend, which has seen a number of destinations in Europe and beyond removing all Covid rules, Disney World has stated they will be ‘making adjustments to these measures, which may continue to change at any time without notice’.

This could mean a state of fewer restrictions (e.g. no masks, no social distancing, no vaccine passes or testing) is conditioned upon the maintenance of a favorable epidemiological scenario.

On their website, park authorities also encourage people to get vaccinated prior to visiting.

Though Optional, Unvaccinated Guests Are Still Advised To Wear Face Masks

Mary Poppins Characterized Entertaining Young Girl At Disney World Parks, Orlando, Florida

While all guests are welcome to stroll the parks maskless, Disney continues to recommend mask usage for those who are not fully vaccinated, mainly in indoor venues and ‘enclosed public transportation’ in the vicinities. It is worth remarking that, despite the recommendation, masks have become optional.

For more information on available packages, restrictions that may still be in place across the parks and resorts, and what visitors can expect when going on a Disney vacation, we advise our readers to access this page, where they can follow more updates and plan their trips accordingly.
