America’s hippest airline (sorry Spirit, bankruptcy isn’t cool) is set to launch new flights to 7 stunning international destinations in the coming months.

Here at Travel Off Path, there’s nothing we love more than making use of our passports. Letting our most prized possession collect dust in any season just isn’t acceptable in our eyes.

All of us here have exciting trips coming up, but even so, we’re a little envious of South Floridians who get to take advantage of these new flights, especially with JetBlue’s celebratory $113 promotional fares that surely won’t last long.

That being said, it’s time to whip out your credit card and get ready to choose from these 7 thrilling sun-drenched getaways launching soon.

3 New Flights To Caribbean Islands

We’ve all seen it 👆— the iconic photos of planes landing in what seems like arm’s reach over vibrant St. Maarten shores.

JetBlue already flies to St. Maarten, but not from Fort Lauderdale (FLL), the airport set to welcome all 7 of the airline’s new flights, according to their latest announcement.

First up is St. Maarten, one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world. This Dutch territory is renowned as one of the Caribbean’s most postcard-worthy destinations for an epic beach vacation, boasting pristine shores and lagoons.

Falling slightly behind in the fastest-growing department is another Dutch Caribbean paradise — the gorgeous island of Aruba.

Beyond funny accents, you’ll find gleaming white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and world-class resorts, plus the opportunity to snap selfies with flamingos.

JetBlue will launch a new flight here too, in addition to the ritzy resort-laden island, Grand Cayman, the largest and most sought-after of the Cayman Islands.

Inaugural flights to St. Maarten, Aruba, and Grand Cayman are all slated for take-off December 4, 2025.

2 New Flights To Vibrant Colombian Cities

If you want to mix more rich culture with your dreamy beach days, Colombia is just the place.

While travelers have been flocking to Medellin smack dab in the middle of the country, don’t let this inland haven of expats and nomads deter you from exploring Colombia’s vibrant coast, especially as cheaply as they are to visit.

First up is Cartagena, Colombia’s most renowned coastal city on the Caribbean side. Modern meets old-school with beautiful beaches (including nearby towns) and UNESCO-protected streets to explore, where grabbing a coffee is a must from one of many cafes lining the cobbled maze of roadways.

Second is Cali. This inland city can easily be considered Medellin 2.0 for its affordability and mild year-round climate, though it’s more steeply ingrained in culture, being known as the country’s “Salsa Capital”.

JetBlue’s new flight to Cali has yet to officially be scheduled, as there are some bureaucratic hurdles to clear before serving this city for the first time ever, but the route to Cartagena will also launch on December 4, 2025.

2 New Flights To Astounding Central American Destinations

Costa Rica has seen a mixed bag of reviews with tourism numbers dropping, which can certainly be attributed to numerous safety concerns reported over the last 6 months or so, including a US Embassy-issued security alert regarding the country’s main airport in San Jose.

Well, we don’t know if that deterred JetBlue from flying here, but it’s not stopping them from flying to Costa Rica’s alternative airport, Liberia (Guanacaste), which is is the more luxurious side of the country.

Viewed as the easiest gateway to Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, you’ll find a plethora of luxe resorts, picturesque beach towns, and lush nature to wander with an array of wildlife sightings.

On the flip side of luxury is Honduras, a country largely overlooked (and somewhat undeveloped) for tourism, yet those who visit actually compare it as a more affordable, up-and-coming “Costa Rica” given its cheap prices across the board and seemingly untouched nature and magnetizing culture.

I, for one, had the chance to visit last year and particularly fell in love with the town of Copan Ruinas, home to immaculately preserved Mayan ruins and an easy bus ride from San Pedro Sula, where JetBlue will also soon fly from Fort Lauderdale.

New routes to the latter and Liberia are set to launch December 4, 2025 as well.

New Ultra-Cheap Flights Launching From U.S. To This Trendy Caribbean Paradise

Already thinking of your next sun-drenched Caribbean getaway this winter? Before you go ahead and spend hundreds of dollars on those ‘irresistible’ round-trip flights that are, in fact, not as cheap as they could be, you’ll want to hear this one out:

From November 15, Arajet, the Dominican Republic’s new budget carrier, will start ultra-affordable direct flights from Chicago to Punta Cana.

Home to postcard white-sand beaches hugged by teal seas, world-class resorts, and a lively entertainment district peppered with restaurants and nightclubs, it is one of the trendiest destinations in the Tropics, and it’s never been cheaper to get to:

At Last… Arajet Is Coming To Chicago!

You might not have come across Arajet in your flight searches before, but that’s because they’re a new airline launched in 2022, and until recently, they operated to and from select hubs across the Americas.

It has grown significantly since its launch, and by 2025, it will already serve destinations such as Miami (MIA), Newark (EWR), and even San Juan (SJU) in Puerto Rico.

Arajet isn’t exactly known for its top-notch service, comfy flying experience, and wide range of onboard amenities, but what they do excel at is their unbeatable prices. That is, if you’re flying at the lowest possible fare, with carry-on only.

From Miami, round-trip tickets average only $196 flying to Punta Cana (PUJ), and from Newark (EWR) to Santo Domingo, the culture-loaded capital of the Dominican Republic, you can expect to pay roughly $208 both ways.

Given their low-cost appeal, it was about time they finally debuted in the Midwest market:

$234 Roundtrip Fares Going To Punta Cana

From November 15, Arajet service will begin between Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Punta Cana, with base round-trip fares currently estimated at $234 (without extras).

We’re sure this might increase as time goes on, but for now, the predicted frequency is three-times-weekly flights, with the operation days as follows:
- From Punta Cana (PUJ): Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays
- From Chicago O’Hare (ORD): Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays
Outbound flights departing from Chicago have a listed departure of 10:27 A.M. from ORD, arriving to PUJ at 5:12 P.M. for a total flight time of 4h45.

Meanwhile, return flights from PUJ are expected to depart at 5:47 A.M. (who here’s an early bird?), touching down back in ORD at 8:57 A.M. just in time for breakfast at Berghoff Cafe in Terminal 1.

What To Expect Flying Arajet

When it comes to Arajet’s bag allowance, you should know it uses the common low-cost carrier structure:
- ‘Base’ fare: personal item only, with no free carry-on or checked luggage
- ‘Comfort’: larger carry allowance or one checked baggage, depending on route
- ‘Extra’: checked baggage, priority boarding, and add-ons you’d typically have to pay for are included
As of now, the average fares for the Comfort and Extra fares from Chicago to Punta Cana haven’t been formally disclosed, but based on Arajet’s historical pricing, we can expect Comfort to start at approximately $253 and Extra at $269.

Once again, these are estimates, and final prices depend on seat availability, seasonal demand, and other factors.

Either way, there’s no denying Arajet will be a stone in American and United’s shoes, and perhaps even Frontier’s, once they enter the Chicago market.

With American Airlines, the cheapest round-trip tickets going to Punta Cana from O’Hare are $328. With United, that’s an even pricier $348, and with Frontier, they average $328.

Planning Your Mexico Winter Escape? When To Book For The Cheapest Flights

There’s only one thing better than jetting off for some winter sun when it’s cold outside: Doing it on a budget!

Let’s face it, none of us have an unlimited pot of money.

And the less we spend on our flights to arrive at our dream vacation spot, the more cash we’ll have left to spend when we get there.

So how do you find those elusive cheap flights?

Google Flights has analyzed their booking data and found that these are the best times to book your flights if you want the cheapest flights this winter:

When To Book The Cheapest Flights To Mexico

According to Google Flights the best time to book an international flight is at least 50 days before take off, with the lowest average prices dropping 101 days before you want to fly.

But when it comes to booking the cheapest flights to Mexico, the normal rules don’t apply!

If you want to get the cheapest possible flights to Mexico, you’ll need to hold your nerve a little longer.

Google Flights has found that prices for traveling from the U.S. to both Mexco and the Caribbean are historically at their lowest 44 days before departure, with the price range for low flights being between 26-68 days before you take off.

So if you want to land in Mexico on December 23 so you can spend Christmas in the sunshine, for example? Then you need to book your flight on November 9 to get the best price!

And if Thanksgiving in the sun is more your vibe then you’ll need to book your flights by October 14 for the cheapest flight options, if this same pattern holds true.

Mexico is a dream vacation destination for American travelers looking for winter sun. And it’s a great place to spend the holiday season.

In fact, Google listed Cancun as the 2^nd most searched destination for American travelers this holiday season.

Winter In Europe

Does this same rule apply if you want to escape this winter but would rather experience the cold and culture of Europe during the holiday season?

The simple answer is no! Booking flights to Europe is a whole different kettle of fish. And you’ll need to plan a little further ahead.

Trips to Europe if you’re departing from the U.S. have historically been cheapest 94 days before your departure date.

However, the same rules for international travel that I mentioned above also apply here. Always book at least 50 days before departure to get the prices: don’t wait until the very last minute or your wallet won’t thank you!

So if you want to arrive in Europe on December 23 to spend Christmas there?

Then you need to think fast! The cheapest day to book your flights will be September 19, which is next week.

Other Tips To Get The Cheapest Possible Flight Prices

Of course, predicting when flights will be at their cheapest isn’t an exact science, nor would everyone be doing it.

But they should give you a good idea of when to start comparing flight prices and when to book!

It’s also interesting to note that although some people swear by booking flights on a Tuesday, the reality is that flights booked on Tuesdays (the cheapest day to book) are only 1.3% cheaper than flights booked on Sundays (the most expensive day to book).

So if you find a price that works for you don’t hold off just because you’re not looking on a Tuesday!

What can make a difference isn’t the day you book but the day you fly.

Flying on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday has been found to be 13% cheaper than flying on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday for international flights.

If you’re looking at domestic flights then this price difference jumps up to 20%.

And if you’re on a tight budget, and don’t mind inconveniencing yourself to save a buck or two then look for flights with a layover instead of nonstop flights.

Nonstop flights have been found to be 25% more expensive than flights with stops.

And if you’re on a long-haul flight or traveling as a family, that can add up to a significant chunk of money!

Northern lights and cheap flights – if that’s not enticing enough to book a trip, then I don’t know what is!

Lots can be said about my favorite country, some good, some bad – if there’s one thing for certain, fall is the best time to explore Iceland.

What once seemed like an unattainable far-flung destination with a fascinating way of life and astounding other-planetary landscapes is now one of the world’s trendiest destinations.

Summer draws a crowd to many of Iceland’s top sites, such as the plethora of majestic waterfalls, shooting geysers, and the volcanic black sand beaches of Vik.

Now that calendars have flipped to September, crowds are beginning to dwindle, but best of all, this month marks the start of the Northern Lights season with some incredibly priced airfare to reach Europe’s most jaw-dropping country on a budget.

An Ethereal Autumn In Iceland

They say ‘don’t go chasing waterfalls’ but nobody is stopping you from chasing impeccably beautiful fall foliage across the pond.

Truth be told, Iceland is borderline whimsical in some aspects.

Its culture is steeped in bizarre elf folklore, unpronounceable streets, and quirky architecture that will leave you befuddled.

What is often overlooked are the scenic fall colors lining the streets of Reykjavik, many of its wondrous terrains, and the up-and-coming northern city of Akureyri, which you should definitely visit this time of year.

While most travelers keep their passports at home to leaf-peep, you will be quite impressed checking out the already stunning natural sites without the vibrant backdrop of foliage.

The rush of fall colors adds tenfold the allure.

Of course, Iceland is a rare European nation where trains go by the wayside in favor of road trips.

Home to the popular Ring Road, this is the ultimate fall adventure where you’ll find open roads, less crowds, and more elbow room at the famous Blue Lagoon.

September marks a season to remember, but don’t feel like you have to visit at the drop of a hat; the Northern Lights can be witnessed in Iceland through April.

That being said, many circle September as the month to visit since this also marks the end of the stingy ‘midnight sun’.

Just as it sounds, if you’re unfamiliar, Iceland experiences extended daylight through the summer months, so locals and tourists alike are stoked to get some shuteye!

If there was ever an excuse to stay up late, it’s to bear witness to nature’s concert of colors known as Aurora Borealis, a natural reaction caused by the sun’s charged particles and Earth’s atmosphere.

But enough with the science lesson, the point is it’s truly an awesome phenomenon to experience.

I’ve done it right here in Iceland.

Thinking I missed out on the chance about to head to the airport, the universe heard my prayers and the skies lit green in Keflavik near the airport.

Even my driver was surprised as I was told there’s often too much light pollution to see it here. There are far better places with a higher odds to view the Northern Lights.

2. Seltjarnarnes (Reykjavik)

Iceland’s Flagship Low-Cost Airline: PLAY

Formerly WOW Air, after a wild timeline of mishaps, this Icelandic airline has rebranded under new ownership as PLAY.

This low-cost carrier offers a variety of nonstop flights to/from the U.S. on the cheap. Such notable airports include Baltimore (BWI), Washington DC (IAD), and Boston (BOS).

As for New York (SWF), make sure you go to the right place as it’s an alternative airport in Stewart, NY – not JFK or LaGuardia.

PLAY offers sales throughout the year with some truly jaw-dropping fares. For example, Bostonites can fly directly to Keflavik (KEF) as low as $139 this fall.

While Iceland may be an expensive country on arrival, that’s a problem to solve once you get here!

Just $1, Eh? Lesser Known Airline Offering Super Cheap Flights To Canada’s Prettiest Fall Destinations

While most Americans splurge on vacations to our southern compadres, our northern neighbors are enticing us to visit on the cheap!

Some Canadian budget airlines have met their maple…I mean maker…lately, but lesser known Flair Airlines is one of the last true low-cost carriers standing.

And with $1 flights, how could they be beat?

If you thought U.S. budget airlines have been riding the struggle bus, think again.

Lynx and Canada Jetlines couldn’t pay the bills any more and Swoop was bought out by much more popular WestJet, leaving only Flair and Air Canada’s Rouge.

As for Edmonton-based Flair, they fly to some really cool places across Canada, Mexico, and the U.S., where 2 lucky American cities can score incredibly cheap deals to Canada’s prettiest fall destinations.

$1 Nonstop Flights From Las Vegas (LAS)

You can’t buy much for a buck anymore, but you can buy a flight this Canada this fall.

And before you ask, “what’s the catch?”, there are none, except to say death and taxes can’t be escaped up north either.

Full transparency: all the $1 flights are non-refundable and will cost you between $16 – $39 including fees and taxes, but do not include any add-ons, such as seat selection and luggage.

Although, like America’s budget airlines, the lowest class allows for a free ‘personal bag‘ no bigger than 6 x 13 x 17 (inches) and weighing no more than 15.5 lbs.

Flair is offering cheap flights from Las Vegas to 2 awesome Canadian cities just in time to see a colorful shift in the treetops.

First up is Calgary (YYC), where $1 base fares are valid on September 13th and September 20th.

Explore this vastly underrated city overshadowed by Vancouver and Toronto and a gateway into one of North America’s most stunning mountain destinations, Banff.

Some might say Calgary is the ‘Denver of Canada’, a fun, thriving city nestled in the majestic Rockies.

Banff is only an hour and a half away for a more quaint, immersive mountain town and an excellent choice for fall foliage photo-ops.

Second is Edmonton (YEG), another overlooked Canadian city unless you’re an avid hockey fan. Book $1 flights for September 17th and 19th for an outdoor lover’s haven popular for hiking, cycling, and kayaking.

And one attraction that may surprise you is the West Edmonton Mall, the largest shopping center in North America, bruising the Mall of America’s ego.

$1 Nonstop Flights From Orlando (MCO)

Orlando is one-upping Las Vegas, seeing $1 flights to 3 underrated Canadian cities. And I’ll be honest up front -you possibly haven’t heard of any of them.

But let’s start with the one that stands out the most as an alternative airport to Toronto, a city you’ve definitely heard of!

Flights to Kitchener-Waterloo (YKF), roughly an hour drive from downtown Toronto, are worth taking for a bit of extra road time.

$1 base fares are available November 2nd and November 5th, where fall colors should be in full bloom in Canada’s top cosmopolitan city.

What may be most impressive, and should be snatched up right away, is the fact Flair is offering $1 fares the week of Christmas which almost never happens with any airline.

Typically, airfares spike through the roof on major holidays, so if you’re up for a winter trip into Canada’s lesser known, take advantage of flights from Orlando to:
- London (YXU) – December 20th and 23rd
- St. John’s (YSJ) – December 22nd
More On Flair

Not that there are any immediate bankruptcy concerns, but travelers may want to know Flair has struggled financially.

Let’s just say travel insurance is always a wise idea even for the most profitable airlines, especially when traveling internationally.

Flair Airlines is a true budget airline through and through, offering dirt cheap airfare and nickel and diming everything else.

Make sure to know your allowable luggage before checking in as fees at the gate become doubled and even nearly tripled at the gate.

Low-cost airlines are typically bare-bones and no-frills, so expect to pay up for refreshments and seats, but random allocation is free.

Just remember you paid $1, but safety is not a concern as AirlineRatings recognized Flair as a top budget airline.

Northern Lights And Nonstop Flights: This Stunning Alaska City Is The Perfect Fall Adventure

Alaska may seem like a far-flung land, and that’s the case for parts of the state. Some regions are so vast and unexplored that they’re only reachable by plane or boat.

There goes your plans for an epic Alaskan road trip this fall…

One thing Alaska does have going for it is accessibility to some really cool places. It isn’t as lacking as you might expect.

There are plenty of nonstop flights taking you to some truly jaw-dropping destinations. The main gateway, other than cruise ships, is the capital city of Anchorage.

But a 6-hour drive north, the remote city of Fairbanks is full of surprises.

You don’t need to have a passport in hand and fly across the ocean to Iceland or Scandinavia to bear witness to one of nature’s most incredible phenomena.

That’s right, as summer winds down, it may be considered autumn for many, but in this part of the U.S., it’s the start of the Northern Lights season.

America’s Northernmost Airport

Alaska is a beast! If you thought Texas or California were massive, coming to Alaska is a whole different experience as bright skylines and gridlock traffic are few and far between.

Wide open spaces, frequent wildlife sightings, and majestic landscapes will have you forgetting all about city life distractions.

That being said, what would we do without flights? Exploring the world sure would look a lot different.

Even in places as isolated as Fairbanks, you gotta have an airport in this day and age.

Best of all, you don’t need to fly into Anchorage just to make an extra 6-hour journey to reach this underrated city.

What may be most surprising about Fairbanks is that Alaska Airlines actually offers a few flights to America’s northernmost airport.

The good news is that they’re not the only notable carrier serving Fairbanks.

Current nonstop routes to Fairbanks International Airport (FAI):
- United: Chicago (ORD), Denver
- Delta: Seattle (SEA), Minneapolis
- Alaska: Anchorage, Seattle (SEA)
- The rest are ‘puddle jumpers’ I can all but guarantee you’ve never heard of. You may notice American no longer flies here.
Perhaps that’s because the popular airline has a vendetta against liars! Despite being named Fairbanks International Airport, there are no international flights offered here.

Nope, not even to Canada. And especially not Russia, despite being able to see the controversial nation from Alaska’s ‘backyard’.

The Fall Adventure Of A Lifetime

Alaska is brimming with outdoor wonders living up to the moniker of ‘The Last Frontier’.

One thing is for certain – Alaska is made to be explored. There’s no better time for the remainder of 2024 than fall.

Teeth-chattering temps will overtake the state come winter, so it’s best to get a head start on your travel plans for fall.

As the midway point of August is behind us, September should be the focal point. This is the month when Mother Nature’s skies put on a show.

Aurora Borealis, otherwise known as the Northern Lights, illuminates the sky in greens, blues, and occasional pinkish hues from September to spring.

While there are certainly natural phenomena to not look forward to, such as the current hurricane season, seeing the Northern Lights in person is a bucket-list item to splurge on.

As someone fortunate enough to witness the dancing sky myself, there’s really no comparison and photos don’t do it justice.

In fact, my recommendation would be to put your phones away and soak it in. Even with the latest iPhone models, capturing the Northern Lights in their raw essence can be a tough project.

Best to leave it to the pros.

You can always venture out on your own to witness the Northern Lights, but for something really unique, you could try a tour like this one that includes dog sledding in the moonlight, dinner, and the Northern Lights!

Delta Introduces 2 New Flights Between The U.S. And This Iconic Italian Destination

Italy is a bucket list destination packed full of incredible culture, delicious food, and charming natural vistas.

There are so many beautiful Italian cities that it can feel impossible to choose just one.

The good news is that traveling between the U.S. and Italy is easier than ever.

And now Delta is introducing 2 new flights between the U.S. and this iconic Italian destination:

Delta Flights To Venice

Venice is one of the most iconic cities in Italy.

Travelers in New York can now fly with ease between New York JFK and Venice Marco Polo Airport.

This flight will operate every day, departing from New York at 8.55 pm and landing in Venice at 10.15 am the next day.

The return leg of the journey will depart from Venice at 12.15 pm and arrive in JFK at 5.05 pm.

For the plane geeks among us, this flight will operate using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft with 216 seats.

If that’s not enough, then for the first time, Delta will also offer 2 daily flights between Venice and Atlanta too.

Later this month, the airline’s nonstop service between Venice and Atlanta will resume, and then in the summer months, this will increase to 2 flights per day.

What does this mean for U.S. travelers to Venice?

This summer, Delta will operate 17 flights a week between Venice and the U.S., making it easier than ever to visit Venice for a summer vacation packed full of culture and romance.

The Popularity Of The Floating City

Venice is one of the most beautiful and iconic destinations in Italy, and it attracts millions of visitors each year.

In fact, it attracts so many visitors that this year, travelers will have to pay a tourist tax to enter the city in a bid to combat overtourism.

Don’t worry this won’t break the bank. You’ll have to pay 5 euros per day to enter the island of Venice between 8:30 and 16:00.

Although this fee won’t be officially introduced until 2025 it will be tested throughout 2024. The current test days will be May 11, 12, 18, 19, 19, 25 and 26.

Why Visit Venice?

Venice is a captivating, breathtakingly beautiful city. Its waterways have captured the hearts and minds of tourists for generations.

It is a small city of grand palaces and old buildings that seem to emerge from the water.

There are no roads in Venice, so traveling by boat (or, if you can afford the luxury, a gondola) is one of the best ways to navigate the city.

There are around 177 different canals to explore in the city, and each offers a unique perspective.

Because Venice is such a compact city, it’s easy to explore in a relatively short period of time.

It has lots of narrow alleys and ancient streets, and getting lost as you explore these is part of the adventure of spending time in the city.

Venice is a great year-round destination thanks to its Mediterranean climate.

Although the winter months can be cooler and misty, that only adds to the romantic, old-world feel of the city.

United Airlines Launches 3 New Flights To These International Destinations

United Airlines, one of the favorites for American travelers, just dropped some exciting news for those still planning out their trips in 2024.

So many cool places are already surging in popularity this year, but United is ready to take travelers across the skies and over oceans to some incredible destinations.

With the travel industry showing no signs of slowing down, more and more airlines are adding new routes to their networks.

For United, their route map is already jam-packed, but one popular city for Americans is being added for the first time in the airline’s history.

United Airlines Announces New Nonstop Flights to Marrakesh

Across the vast Atlantic is one of the best destinations to immerse yourself in out-of-body cultural experiences.

There is no U.S. city that comes even close to being comparable to the medieval city of Marrakesh, Morocco.

Beginning October 24th, Americans will be able to fly nonstop from Newark (EWR) and spend their days perusing mazes of alleyways and bustling souks and snapping photos of breathtaking architecture, such as the Koutoubia Mosque.

This new route will be the only direct U.S. flight to Marrakesh. Travelers can choose from three weekly flights on a Boeing 767-300ER plane.

However, tickets are not on sale just yet, but travelers are encouraged to continue checking United.com for updates!

Explore the City of Eternal Spring: Medellin with United

Colombia is super popular with travelers right now, but it does come with a mixed bag of reviews.

Depending on where you go, the country can be quite iffy when it comes to tourist safety, even resulting in a fairly recent security alert issued by the U.S. Embassy.

That being said, Medellin has long been a haven for expats, and even more so now that the digital nomad craze has taken over.

Given its warm climate, The ‘City of Eternal Spring’ is an awesome, affordable getaway any time of year to explore this scenic mountainous city.

Travelers will have to wait until October 27th to book a trip here with United, the airline’s first time ever venturing into Medellin.

The new flight will take off from Houston (IAH) with daily service. Tickets for this route are not yet on sale either.

United Airlines Announces New Nonstop Flights to Shanghai

Is 2024 the year Americans are ready to embrace China as one of the premiere destinations in Asia? Time will tell.

United is not the only airline heading back to one of the most iconic countries on the planet, but surely travelers will feel more comfortable taking one of their favorite carriers.

This new Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG) route is a reboot. For obvious reasons, it was shut down in recent years, but China is open for business again.

Despite travelers’ hesitations, the former popular route is now ready for a relaunch. Travelers can head to the vibrant bustling city of Shanghai with flight offerings four times per week beginning August 29th.

Unlike the other new routes, tickets are on sale already, and prices are a doozy! Round-trip Economy seats go between $1500 and $1700, while Business Class seats go upwards of $ 5,500.

Bonus: New Connection Route To Paradise

The Philippines is one of the most beautiful and affordable exotic getaways in Asia. Truth be told, more Americans have found their way there for its wondrous landscapes, safety, and minimal language barriers.

While the capital city of Manila is a worthwhile trip in its own right, a trip to the Philippines without visiting one of the country’s many stunning islands would be a real shame.

United has laser-focused on Cebu as the latest destination added to its network, but U.S. travelers will have to make a bit of a longer trek to reach it.

The official new route will begin July 31st from Tokyo (NRT) to Cebu (CEB) with daily flights on a 737-800 aircraft.

Americans can easily connect from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Newark, and Houston and arrive in paradise, where a bustling city and jaw-dropping beaches await.

Cebu is very affordable and is slowly but surely becoming more popular for digital nomads, and it’s easy to see why.

This narrow island stretches over 100 miles with gorgeous beaches dispersed across the coastline, and historic Cebu City itself, the former capital of the Philippines, is quite an underrated concrete jungle.

New $1500 Monthly Pass Includes Rent & Unlimited Flights — But Is It Worth It?

There’s a new monthly pass for digital nomads that’s generating a lot of buzz right now — but is it really worth the hype?

Landing, a furnished apartment rental platform that specializes in mid-term stays, has just announced its new Nomad Pass for $1,495 per month.

The pass includes unlimited access to furnished apartments plus unlimited free flights on Frontier Airlines with the inclusion of a GoWild! Pass.

But is this deal actually too good to be true?

Here’s what you need to know about the Nomad Pass, and whether or not it’s actually worth it.

What Does The Nomad Pass Include?

The Nomad Pass includes access to Landing’s 20,000+ fully furnished apartments across more than 375 cities in the United States.

These apartments are modern, stylish, and fully equipped. WiFi and utilities are included, so you can move right in and start working.

Included in the $1,495 Nomad Pass is a Frontier GoWild! Pass, a value of over $599. These passes were introduced in 2022 and allow unlimited flights on Frontier — but with lots of caveats.

So is this actually a good deal?

Here’s the good, the bad, and the ugly about the Nomad Pass.

Who The Nomad Pass Is For

The Nomad Pass might be worth it for digital nomads and remote workers who are extremely flexible with where they stay and don’t mind having a lot of uncertainty in their plans (see the cons below for more details on why this is important!)

One of the major benefits of the Nomad Pass is that you get access to high-quality furnished apartments with WiFi and utilities included for just $1,495 a month.

This is much cheaper than any decent apartment in most major U.S. cities, and Landing has properties in top digital nomad cities like Chicago, Denver, Austin, Atlanta, Miami, Charlotte, and more.

If you’re okay with moving around a lot, the Nomad Pass could be a viable option for living in lots of cool U.S. cities and trying out different neighborhoods.

You can also get some good mileage out of the included Frontier GoWild! Pass, although it does come with numerous restrictions (more on that below.)

So who shouldn’t get the Nomad Pass? Here’s why it may not be as great of a deal as it sounds like…

Why The Nomad Pass Isn’t Worth It

One of the biggest drawbacks of the Nomad Pass is that you will be part of Landing’s “Standby” membership.

So while you have unlimited access to their 20,000+ apartments, you can be “bumped” at any time if a standard member decides to book that apartment.

You’ll only get 3 days’ notice if you’re being bumped, and while Landing will help you find an available apartment in their inventory, you might be left scrambling to move into the next place quickly.

This is a major con because even for digital nomads who are on the move frequently, having to potentially move every 3 days and not being able to maintain a consistent schedule can make life difficult.

Also, the Frontier GoWild! Pass comes with similar catches.

There are a number of blackout dates, you still have to pay taxes and fees (so the flights aren’t really free), and you can only book flights one day in advance.

These factors make planning ahead very challenging since you have no guarantee of where you’ll be staying in a week or where you can fly to next, until the very last minute.

And finally, there will only be 1,000 Nomad Passes available at first, meaning it will be nearly impossible to even obtain one of these elusive passes.

Which airlines offer free WiFi on flights, and how can you get it?

Free WiFi on airplanes is still not very common, but there are a handful of airlines around the world that offer it — including one major airline that just announced free WiFi for all passengers.

In the United States, only two airlines currently offer free WiFi.

Internationally, there are a number of airlines that offer free WiFi as well.

As with anything “free,” there are a few catches to getting free onboard WiFi. Some airlines offer it on select routes only or for a limited amount of time.

Here are all the major airlines that currently offer free WiFi on most flights:

1. JetBlue

JetBlue was the first U.S. airline to start offering free WiFi to all passengers through their Fly-Fi service in 2013. Since then, it has expanded to cover almost all flights in the United States, as well as many flights to Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as select flights to Europe.

This makes JetBlue one of the best airlines to fly if you’re looking for free WiFi — but coverage may vary depending on the route and type of plane.

2. Delta Air Lines

Delta is the latest airline in the U.S. to start offering free WiFi on most flights. This new program began rolling out in early 2023 and is expected to cover all major domestic flights by the end of 2023, and all international flights and regional flights by the end of 2024.

In order to access the free onboard WiFi on Delta flights, you must be a member of SkyMiles, Delta’s frequent flyer program.

Fortunately, it’s free to sign up for SkyMiles and you can do it while you’re on the plane before connecting to WiFi if you aren’t already a member.

3. Singapore Airlines

The most recent airline to announce free WiFi for all is Singapore Airlines.

According to Simple Flying, free WiFi will be available for passengers in all cabins starting July 1. Previously, passengers flying in premium cabins already enjoyed free WiFi, so this roll-out is expected to cover all flights and routes immediately.

Now, passengers seated in economy class will be able to connect to free WiFi too. Similar to Delta, travelers will need to join Singapore Airlines’ free KrisFlyer loyalty program prior to connecting.

4. Qatar Airways

Another airline to offer free WiFi is Qatar Airways — but it does come with a caveat.

In order to access free WiFi on your Qatar Airways flight, you must be a member of the airline’s Privilege Club frequent flyer program (it’s free to join.)

Even then, you’ll only get one hour of complimentary WiFi. After that, you can choose to upgrade to a paid package to continue surfing the web.

5. Norwegian Airlines

European low-cost carrier Norwegian Airlines offers free WiFi on many of their flights. Travelers on short-haul flights within Europe will have access to complimentary WiFi, and as of 2020, it’s available on many long-haul trans-Atlantic flights too.

However, the free WiFi only applies to the “Basic” plan. If you want faster service or the ability to stream video content, you’ll need to pay for a premium WiFi package.

Honorable Mentions

These airlines offer limited free WiFi on select routes or to limited destinations:
- Philippine Airlines: Offers 30 minutes of free WiFi on select international flights
- Qantas: Offers complimentary WiFi on all domestic flights within Australia
- Nok Air: Offers free WiFi on all flights (mainly flies within Thailand)
- Air New Zealand: Offers complimentary WiFi on select flights
Free WiFi on flights seems to be a growing trend, and more airlines may offer this benefit in the future, making it easier than ever to stay connected.
