Frontier Airlines just released the details of its GoWild! Pass, a new all-you-can-fly annual subscription. For just $599, the GoWild! Pass lets you fly an unlimited number of flights to any of Frontier’s destinations in the United States, including Puerto Rico, for a whole year.

Frontier is a popular low-cost airline in the United States, and they’ve generated a lot of buzz with this announcement.

But is the GoWild! Pass actually worth it?

Here’s everything you need to know about this new flight subscription and whether it’s worth the $599 price tag or not.

What To Know About The Frontier GoWild! Pass

The GoWild! Pass offers travelers unlimited flights on Frontier Airlines flights within the United States.

Right now, the pass is priced at $599, but this is a special introductory price that won’t last long. The normal cost of the pass (and the annual renewal rate) is $1,999.

If you want to lock in the current $599 price, you’ll want to purchase the pass as soon as possible.

Flights Must Be Booked The Day Before Departure

This is one really important thing to note. With the GoWild! Pass, you can only book flights the day before departure.

Flights will come available to be booked one day in advance, and that’s as early as you’ll be able to confirm your flight.

There Are Blackout Dates

Although the GoWild! Pass allows you to fly on over 300 days out of the year, there are a significant number of blackout dates.

In 2023, flights cannot be booked for the following dates: May 25, 26, 29; June 29, 30; July 1-5, 8, 9; August 31; September 1, 4; October 5, 6, 9; November 18, 22, 24-27; December 16, 17, 22-24, 26-31.

You Still Have To Pay Taxes And Fees

While the GoWild! Pass is only $599 and you’ll only pay a fare of $0.01 per flight that you book, you’re still responsible for the full amount of taxes and fees on your fare.

According to FareCompare, taxes and fees can add as much as 30% to your total fare.

How much will taxes and fees be on Frontier flights booked with the annual pass? According to an inquiry from The Points Guy, these will start at $14.60 per flight for flights booked with the GoWild! Pass.

It Only Covers Flights In The United States

Frontier is known for its low-cost routes that connect cities in the United States with destinations like Mexico, the Bahamas, and Jamaica.

But unfortunately, you won’t be able to jet off the to islands with the Frontier GoWild! Pass.

It’s limited to destinations in the United States only (however, this does include Puerto Rico).

So Is The GoWild! Pass Really Worth It?

The Frontier GoWild! Pass is worth it for some travelers, but certainly not everyone.

It mostly makes sense for frequent flyers who have the ability to book last-minute flights.

Barry Biffle, the CEO of Frontier Airlines, stated, “If you’re thinking about traveling at least once a month, this makes sense for you. If you’re willing to travel once a week, this is a no-brainer.”

For people who only fly once or twice a year, the GoWild! Pass definitely does not make sense, and you’d be better off purchasing individual tickets.

However, for frequent travelers with a lot of flexibility (such as remote workers, digital nomads, and retirees), the GoWild! Pass can be worth it.

It’s also worth noting that this only applies to the current introductory price of $599 per year.

Once the price is increased to $1,999, it will be really hard to justify the Frontier GoWild! Pass as a worthwhile purchase for anyone.

But right now, it’s possible to make the most out of the pass for one year. Since you can cancel at any time, the GoWild! Pass could be a great way to save money if you plan to travel a lot in 2023.

This is a particularly worrying statement, seeing that in the current climate, up to 48% of adults aged 20-40 in the United States shop on their phones – a far higher number than the global average of 34%. The data, obtained from a survey of 3,250 American customers carried out by Klarna, is precisely what has analysts concerned:

Pymnts.com, a website dedicated to analyzing the role of payments in new tech, the majority of travel service purchases were made on a mobile device in February 2022. As proved by Pymnts.com, more than half (51.4%) of travel purchases in the U.S. were made on mobile in February of this year.

The data comprises the month of February alone, but we’re guessing the trend hasn’t reversed based on the record-breaking profits some airlines are reporting, and the role of mobiles. ‘The initial price is almost always lower than a competitor’s all-in price‘, Santana was quoted saying, alluding to the never-ending battle between low-cost, drip-priced airlines and other full service ones: ‘But once they start to add on amenities such as a checked bag, seat options, etc., that different in price (across firms) diminishes and sometimes reverses.’

As Santana puts it, shopping on the phone influences customers to accept whatever extra charge has been applied to the original product, as re-starting the entire process, a decision that usually entails losing all information provided, or opening up a new tab to find cheaper options, is perceived as time-consuming and a bigger hassle (in a small screen).

Booking flights can take several long minutes, as you add your name, personal information, passport details and make selections, so giving up halfway through over the cost of ‘add-ons’, under the notion there is no way to circumvent them, and that full-service airlines are always the costlier pick, is discouraging for many.

Customers End Up Paying More Finalizing Purchases On Their Mobiles

The researchers were surprised to learn that, even after the final price had risen, customers buying tickets on their phones were extremely ‘unwilling’ to compare different providers: ‘consumers perceive high search costs associated with starting their decision process over, and they think they will save less money than they actually will’, added Santana.

Just think for a sec: how many times have you switched between apps when booking a trip? There is the airline’s own app to account for, then there’s either Booking.com or AirBnB when it comes to accommodation, the calendar app, where you’ll need to check your own availability, and of course, flight-search tools like Google Flights or Skyscanner, among others.

That is a lot of tabs active on your phone browser simultaneously, and no matter how fast you are with your fingers, the chances of overlooking relevant information, or even forgetting that you had a secondary tab for comparison open in the first place is substantially higher. On larger screens, the decision-making process tends to be more comfortable.

In being comfortable, it may help shoppers think clearly before reaching for their wallets. There is an even earlier study to corroborate this: back in 2018, the Journal of Marketing analyzed customer behavior from more than one million sessions on a shopping website, and their results inform us those who concluded purchases from their phones paid higher fees.

Additionally, the higher conversion rate was far more noticeable with higher-priced products, a category comprising flight tickets. Concluding, Santana advised her fellow travelers to ‘always shop for travel on a desktop’: ‘I like to have several tabs open at once and toggle between them to make sure I understand price differences and drivers across firms‘.

Survey Reveals The Most Annoying Passengers On Flights

If you have never had another passenger annoy you during one of your flights, count yourself lucky! Most travelers have run into a passenger that irritated them at some point during a flight. The more you fly, the more often you see (or smell) passengers that clearly aren’t the rest of the flight’s favorite character. In a recent survey, travelers were asked which behaviors from other passengers annoyed them.

Below are the top 10 most annoying passengers on flights, as well as the percentage of respondents who found their behaviors annoying.

1) Passengers Who Kick the Seat

Percentage of Respondents: 59.11%

Unsurprisingly, passengers found those who kicked the back of their seats to be one of the most annoying things a fellow passenger can do. As a direct physical attack on travelers’ personal space and comfort, it makes sense that this is at the top of the list.

2) Passengers Who Get Drunk and Unruly

Percentage of Respondents: 59.11%

Drunk and unruly passengers tied with seat kicking for 1^st place, and it’s no surprise why. Once you are thousands of feet in the air in a metal tube, there’s no way to walk away from a situation. Unfortunately, some passengers can’t handle their alcohol, leading to highly uncomfortable and even dangerous situations like the one below.

In the best case, you’ll have to put up with snoring from someone who had a few too many. In the worst case, threats of physical violence have occurred. This particular behavior can go from annoying to dangerous quite quickly.

3) Passengers Who Smell Bad (or too Good)

Percentage of Respondents: 48%

Nearly half of respondents said passengers who smell bad from poor hygiene or wear too much cologne annoy them. Being stuck in a giant flying tube with hundreds of other people is bad enough. Add in unpleasant smells, and it becomes a whole different experience.

4) Passengers Who Are Negligent Parents

Percentage of Respondents: 46.81%

Trailing behind bad-smelling passengers are parents who aren’t attentive during flights. Almost half of the respondents said parents who don’t attend to their children annoy them on flights. Unfortunately, this behavior often coincides with the #1 most annoying thing – seat kicking.

5) Passengers Who Eat Strong-Smelling Foods

Percentage of Respondents: 39.8%

Similar to #3, passengers who eat foods with a pungent smell can annoy the people around them. However, these smells aren’t quite as annoying as passengers who smell bad.

6) Passengers Who Hog the Armrest

Percentage of Respondents: 39.07%

Nearly two out of five respondents thought passengers who hog the armrest are annoying. You probably understand what they mean if you’ve been stuck in the middle seat with two armrest hogs.

7) Passengers Who Recline the Seat All the Way

Percentage of Respondents: 38.25%

Reclining the seat on an airplane has been a debate among travelers for years. Still, about 38% of respondents agreed that this was annoying behavior.

8) Passengers Who Talk to You Too Much

Percentage of Respondents: 29.87%

Getting stuck in a conversation is a nightmare for many travelers, but at least while on land, the option of walking away is available. Thousands of feet in the air, there’s no getting away from a talkative passenger. However, beginning the flight with headphones may help avoid getting caught in unwanted conversation.

9) Passengers Who Board or Deplane Out of Turn

Percentage of Respondents: 29.60%

Everyone has witnessed the eager passengers who jump out of their seats and dash down the aisle only to wait for the plane doors to open. Maybe they are afraid of missing a connecting flight, or perhaps that’s just how they are. Either way, nearly 3 in 10 respondents found this annoying.

10) Passengers Who Listen Have Their Headphones Turned Up Too Loud

Percentage of Respondents: 28.96%

Planes are loud as it is and often drown out a lot of background noise. If someone’s music is so loud that you can hear it, it’s probably too loud. This trailed just behind passengers who skip their turn boarding, with just under 3 in 10 saying loud music or movies annoy them.

Noteworthy Extras

Several more annoying passengers that didn’t make the top 10 were passengers who take off their shoes, passengers who use overhead space far in front of their seat, and passengers who practice too much PDA. One thing remains clear. Packing a few hundred people together in an enclosed space for a few hours can certainly bring out some behaviors that annoy fellow passengers.

5 New Flights To The Dominican Republic Are Launching From The U.S. And Canada

Now that most of the Caribbean has reopened, the Dominican Republic (DR) is eager to welcome visitors. In response to the surging demand, low cost carriers are launching a total of five new flight flights to the insular nation in the high season from the U.S. and Canada, making it a lot easier for North Americans to escape the cold winter months.

The DR had always been a beach hotspot in the years preceding the health crisis, but it truly found its fame and made a name for itself in the post-pandemic era, after a a record number of tourist arrivals was recorded. To put it simply, it is hotter than ever before and we can expect flight frequencies to increase further.

So far, this is all we know about the new flight routes:

Frontier, Swoop And Air Century Adding DR Flights This Winter

Both the U.S. Frontier and Canada’s Swoop were the main beneficiaries of an agreement struck between the DR’s Civil Aeronautics Board, shortened to JAC in Spanish, and five other airlines, allowing for the inauguration of new flights to the island. Besides the popular North American operators, Condor, Neos and Air Century nabbed a slice of the market.

In total, the deal has green-lit a 13 new international routes into the Dominican Republic, due to start between November 2022 and January 2023. Naturally, we will focus mostly on Frontier and Swoop only, as they will serve the North American market exclusively, though the Dominican-based Air Century has been allotted U.S. flights as well.

Let’s Start With Frontier

Frontier already offers an air bridge between a number of cities and Punta Cana, the DR’s leading beach destination, namely:
- Chicago (Chicago O’Hare)
- Cleveland (Cleveland Hopkins International)
- Miami International
- Orlando International
- Philadelphia International
Additionally, seasonal flights depart to Punta Cana from Atlanta (Hartsfield-Jackson), St. Louis Lambert International, and outside of the mainland U.S., Puerto Rico. Having established a strong presence in the island’s easternmost tip, the carrier’s top executives have now set their eyes on Santo Domingo, the fast-developing capital.

More specifically, they have requested that the DR authorities modify their ‘Operating Permit’, which would allow them to expand service to Santo Domingo, adding a brand new route from Tampa International (TPA). Moreover, the Florida hub could be getting its own Punta Cana flights, should Frontier’s request get approved.

These routes will launch on November 5, 2022, once the Airbus A320neo with a 186-seat capacity takes to the skies. They are the latest major announcement coming from Frontier regarding winter travel, as up until now, the company seemed to focus on domestic routes – Phoenix, for instance, is set to host ten new flights to other U.S. hubs.

Air Century Looks For A Place In The American Market

While it surely isn’t as popular, at least in the American market, the DR’s own Air Century is introducing seven new international flights from the island – two of those are Tampa and Miami-bound. Pretty soon, Tampa residents will be able to choose whether their airline of preference, be it American or Dominican.

Whether a new fare war is about to start remains to be seen, though one thing is for certain: it’s the customers who will come out as winners either way. As for Miami, Air Century is planning to initiate service from the Southern Californian city to the aforementioned Punta Cana and Santo Domingo – exact schedules and frequency are yet to be outlined.

Hamilton To Punta Cana Flights Debuting Soon

Lastly, Canada’s Swoop has reasons to celebrate after obtaining authorization to fly the Hamilton International (YHM)-Punta Cana route. Official details include:
- Operations will begin between January 11 and April 26, 2023
- Flight frequency is once a week, every Wednesday
- Tickets could be as cheap as CAN$199 one-way at the lowest fare level
Regarding the third item, price estimates have not been released yet, but we can assume they won’t be much more expensive than the ones we’ve seen for Toronto-Punta Cana, or CAN$199 on select dates. It is Swoop’s only other DR product, and a route where the carrier has deployed a 737-800 with a seating capacity of 174 – 162 Economy and 12 Business.

This gives us some indication as to where we’re headed with the future Hamilton flights.

The Five New Routes

In sum, the new five routes to the Dominican Republic from the U.S. and Canada are:
- Tampa-Santo Domingo (Frontier)
- Tampa-Punta Cana (Frontier, Air Century)
- Miami-Santo Domingo (Air Century)
- Miami-Punta Cana (Air Century)
- Hamilton, Canada-Punta Cana (Swoop)
Elsewhere, Dusseldorf International in Germany is getting its own La Romana flights, complementing an existing-service to Puerto Plata and Punta Cana; Italy’s Neos, on the other hand, is flying to the DR from Rome Fiumicino and Verona International – again, to La Romana, Europe’s favorite entry point into the Caribbean gem.

The JAC has also confirmed availability for a whopping 61 new international routes, proving the Dominican Republic is growing rapidly as a destination. As of now, no airlines have claimed those.

United Airlines Becomes The First U.S. Carrier To Offer Nonstop Flights To Dubai

Proving the ties between North America and the Middle East are stronger than ever now that Covid restrictions have eased, United Airlines has just been granted the honor of being the first U.S. carrier to offer nonstop flights to Dubai, at least in a long while. Pretty soon, Dubai and its many wonders will be a lot more accessible to Americans.

Demand for the United Arab Emirates has soared this year after international tourism resumed: even though the country had remained open, albeit with varying degrees of restrictions, throughout most of the crisis, it wasn’t until recently that bookings went through the roof and an accentuated recovery was noted.

Now, it is without a question one of the most sought-after destinations, both by Americans and globally:

United Returns To Dubai For The First Time In Six Years

Starting next year, United Airlines will have a direct link between its New York hub of Newark (EWR) and Dubai International (DXB), marking the first time a U.S. carrier returns to the Emirate since 2016. At the time, a feud had started between America’s three largest airlines, namely United, Delta and American Airlines, and Persian Gulf’s main carriers.

The daily service is launching officially on March 25, 2023, and is a sign of change for two airlines that had once been hostile to one another over market share for nearly six years. In fact, Emirates Airlines, Dubai’s main server, even warmed to the idea of initiating a codeshare agreement in what could be described as a watershed moment for U.S.-UAE connectivity.

On top of that, customers on both ends will have access to each other’s Frequent Flyer membership, and all the perks that this status confers, whether it’s Business Class upgrades, access to exclusive airport lounges and much more. Luckily, those most enthusiastic about Emirates’ world-class service won’t have to sacrifice their comfort when flying United.

United Brings In Its Boeing 777-200ER

A Boeing 777-200ER has been deployed for the trajectory, and it features a total of 276 seats. Out of those, 50 are Business Class (or Polaris), 24 Premium Plus, or United’s equivalent to ‘premium economy seats’, 46 Economy Plus with extra legroom, and 156 regular Economy, at the lowest-possible fare.

On those, tickets can go as low as $548 one-way.

Emirates has gained a reputation for being a high end airline with true inflight luxury, and has nearly become an essential part of the overall ‘Dubai experience’. United is well aware of that, and while it is no longer Emirates’ fierce competitor, it is rising up to the challenge in providing its loyal Polaris customer a near, if not equal, Emirates-level of quality.

United’s business seats were ‘designed for comfort and convenience’, and have been described as ideal both for those who want to relax ahead of landing at their final destination, or work for a few hours during their flight. Some of the features are a ‘six-way adjustable headrest’ and a seat cushion that ‘cradles’ passengers when reclining.

Also included:
- Multiple storage spaces for personal items;
- A water bottle console;
- An electronic device holder fit for both smartphones and tablets;
- Universal AC power plug;
- An extendable cocktail table;
- DIRECTTV access, etc.
More Details About The Flight

As for the flight itself, duration is 13h25 eastbound and 14h50 westbound. The daily scheduled is as follows: UA164 departs Newark at 22:15, arriving in Dubai 19:40 local time, on the following day. Returning home, flight UA163 leaves Dubai at 2:15 in the morning, arriving back to New York-Newark at 9:05 in the same calendar date EST.

Prior to the launch, United’s route to the Emirate departing from Newark had mandatory layovers in other airports in Europe, such as Paris’ Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam’s Schiphol, which has been facing severe travel delays lately. On the other hand, Emirates has been flying nonstop to JFK for years, a hub that has persistently shunned United’s efforts to expand.

The agreement will allow Emirates to continue operating from JFK, where it even maintains a lounge and has built strong partnerships, while United serves Newark instead. Moving forward, we expect to see this relationship deepen further, and new routes to be announced from the U.S. to the Middle East now that the air bridge has been amended.

“Manspreading” on planes and other forms of public transportation has been the hot topic of discussion this past week. The issue was brought to light again from this recent Reddit post that went viral of a plane passenger being wedged into her seat as her seatmate’s leg inched its way into her legroom space. To clarify, the action of someone spreading their legs (many would say needlessly) in such a way that takes up the space of another person is often referred to as manspreading.

Under the username u/deilyk, she posted a picture on the subreddit “Mildly Infuriated” with the caption “At least it was a short flight”. The post quickly circulated and has seen almost two thousand comments so far, with other Redditors chiming in to share their own personal stories.

Some Redditors on the page shared their stories, thoughts, and even solutions to this occurrence that seems to happen all too often.

Whether it be their experiences of being next to passengers who use their shoulder as a travel pillow or thrust their leg out to invade a fellow travelers seat space, lots of people have something to say on the topic. And, it seems like the act of ‘manspreading’ isn’t limited to a particular gender.

One Redditor, under the username Federal_Novel_9010, shared a story of a woman taking up too much space next to her on a flight from D.C. to New York: “Was on an Accela from DC to NYC and this woman next to me kept doing this. I would just shove her foot back over with mine.”

While many were swift to share personal accounts, others asked questions and provided some potential solutions to these kinds of problems when on a plane.

The Picture That Has Reddit Up In Arms

One Redditor suggested to just ask nicely, and then take action: “‘Could you move your foot please?’ If they don’t, then put your foot on top of their foot. If they wanna be in your space, they can deal with your feet.” Another user even suggested the following: “Use your words. ‘Excuse me, please move your foot.’”

The Reddit post also showed that not everyone feels the need to take up extra space on a plane, even if they are larger in stature. This particular user shared their experience when traveling: “I’m a big dude and I suffer on airplanes because I put other people’s comfort before mine. I’ll turn my wide shoulders at the expense of my back being sore for days after.”

Others on the subreddit made similar comments, saying that they would not take up another passenger’s space and stay inside their allotted space.

So, is the action of manspreading the work of an ‘unruly passenger’, or, is it simply something that can be dealt with on a personal one-on-one basis on the ground (or up in the air)?

‘Manspreading’: A Modern History

The topic of manspreading was first thrust into our post-modern online world back in 2013 via Tumblr. OxfordDictionaries.com then added manspreading as an official word in 2015 and the term has been routinely used ever since. But, many who’ve personally observed and have been subjected to it can attest that this action has been around for much longer.

This video published in 2017 by The Cut outlines how manspreading actually dates back hundreds of years.

The issue became so big that many cities in Europe officially banned the action on public transportation, including Madrid and Paris in 2017. In 2014, the U.S. cities of New York and Seattle issued poster campaigns on their public transportation system to encourage awareness and respect for fellow commuters.

While many would argue that the manspread is inevitable if someone is comparatively larger and would feel more comfortable spreading their legs out when sitting next to another person, there are ways to avoid it.

As some comments in the viral Reddit post noted – it’s not the size that matters, it’s what you do with it. Feeling entitled to take that extra space sometimes results in others being left in the dark, or in this particular case, nudged into your middle seat on a plane.

American Airlines And Air Canada Relaunching Nonstop Flights To Cozumel This Fall

Viva Mexico! Indisputably America’s favorite international destination, the country is experiencing a significant increase in flight frequency lately, with airlines battling among themselves for dominance in key markets. American Airlines and Air Canada are among some of the strongest contenders, having just added new nonstop flights to Cozumel.

Now that the colder months are approaching in the Northern Hemisphere, demand for Caribbean travel could be reaching an all-time high for the first official post-pandemic travel season. Interestingly, Mexico remains a regional leader in bookings, in spite of heavy competition from Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and the like.

Following the latest announcement, Cozumel, one of its most sought-after beaches, is about to get a lot busier:

American Airlines Adding Flights To Cozumel From Two U.S. Cities

As part of their fall and winter program, which also features flights to other sunny spots like Cuba and skiing hubs, American Airlines is reinstating their Cozumel flights. Departing weekly from Charlotte, North Carolina, with a start date set for October 8, Cozumel complements American’s already-comprehensive Mexican flight map.

Although it was originally established as a seasonal offer, customers booking through the carrier’s website will notice nonstop service is available up to July 29, 2023, the furthest the calendar goes on the date this article was written. While we have not obtained confirmation, judging by this schedule, Cozumel is looking like a permanent addition.

In other words, Charlotte-based travelers will have a direct link to the pristine island throughout winter and well into summer 2023, unlike customers residing elsewhere in the U.S. Airfares are considerably higher than the average Cancun flight, starting at $370 one-way, but much cheaper seats can be found when reserved months in advance.

Flights will depart every Saturday at 9:05 from Charlotte Douglas International (CLT), landing in Cozumel International (CZM) at 11:16. Returning home the next Saturday, Charlotteans should be at the gate at 1:00 (in the morning), landing at 5:00, though connecting flights in Austin, Texas are available throughout the week.

Other details include:
- Flight time 3h00 (roughly)
- Operated by an Airbus A319
- Seats distributed between Basic Economy, Main Economy, and Business Classes
- Refreshments are available for Basic and Main Economy customers
- Business travelers have free breakfast
- Features AC power, live TV, personal device streaming and high-speed WiFi*
*WiFi is usually available for a fee

Charlotte is not the only U.S. hub being awarded its own air bridge with the paradise island: Philadelphia will begin hosting once-a-week Cozumel flights from November 5, a seasonal strategy ending April 1, 2023, according to the company’s own online flight schedule. Much like Charlotte’s, the Philadelphia-Cozumel route will be open on Saturdays.

Departure time is 10:40 a.m. and the journey lasts 4h40 approximately, with 2:20 a.m. as the tentative arrival time. On the way back, he flight leaves Cozumel at 2:39 p.m., touching down in Philadelphia at 7:35 p.m. Economy tickets can cost as little as $280 one-way, depending on seat availability and travel dates.

Besides Cancun, Cozumel is the only other destination American Airlines serves in the Mayan Riviera from Philadelphia International. The route is operated by an Embraer 175 under American Eagle, a regional branch of American Airlines. Unlike the Airbus 319 deployed for Charlotte, this aircraft is not equipped with WiFi.

Air Canada Offering Cozumel Flights From Its Toronto Base

Lastly, Air Canada is bringing Canadians much closer to Cozumel, being the latest major airline to announce nonstop flights to the island. Leaving from Toronto Pearson, flights will start November 6 under the Air Canada Rouge logo, a subsidiary of the nation’s flag-carrier. Throughout November, frequency will be weekly, more specifically every Sunday.

Beginning December, this will increase to twice a week, culminating in three-weekly flights from January 2023. Flight duration is 4h20 and one-way tickets start at $425, making it a pricier alternative to Cancun’s busy airport. On the other hand, Cozumel’s arrival figures are significantly lower, resulting in fewer delays.

Luckily, Torontonians no longer face layovers in the U.S. or Mexico vacationing there. Sunday timetables for November are as follows:

Outbound
- Departure from Toronto: 10:20 a.m.
- Arrival in Cozumel: 2:40 p.m.
Return
- Departure from Cozumel: 3:35 p.m.
- Arrival in Toronto: 7:35 p.m.
A few of Cozumel’s top rated attractions are Playa Caletita, in close proximity to the island’s ferry terminal, the landmark Punta Sur Eco Beach Park, and the Mayan monument-packed San Gervasio Archaeological Site. Most international travelers are accustomed to spending six to ten hours on board, often overnight. For those with the ability to sleep while flying, the result is a comfortable flight with only a few hours spent trying to occupy their time. However, some long-haul flights are a different animal. Upgrades Go A Long Way For Long-Hauls

Long-haul flights are a different kind of flying experience. Hence, they require a different approach to make the trip as comfortable as possible. Firstly, if there was ever a time to upgrade to a higher flying class, it’s for flights like the ones above. Most travelers don’t upgrade to business or first class, especially for shorter flights. Indeed, the cost vs. benefit for shorter flights often doesn’t make it worth upgrading. However, if you’re going to be on a plane for almost 19 hours, upgrading in any way is going to make the whole experience much nicer.

Some airlines, such as Singapore Airlines, offer suites with a personal lounge chair and lie-flat bed, albeit with a hefty price tag (Over $9,000 one way from JFK to SIN). For the other 99% of travelers, it’s probably more realistic to pay an additional fee for a seat with more legroom. After 10+ hours of sitting in a cramped economy seat, paying extra for more legroom will sound more and more enticing.

Sleep Smart

An extra-long-haul flight typically entails a significant time change. In fact, those undertaking the JFK to SIN route will find the date has changed by two days by the time they land. Talk about jet lag! Since you already know what the time difference will be, it can be helpful to go ahead and act like you are in the new time zone. If you can, try sleeping during your destination’s nighttime. You’ll be ahead of the game when you land, meaning you can start exploring without jet lag much faster.

Could You Do It?

The flights above are so long that some travelers may think twice about booking. However, the flight itself could be a unique and interesting experience if done right. For travelers who aren’t up to the challenge, perhaps breaking up the journey into segments could be a better option. Plus, this would allow for more sightseeing and exploring during a stopover. Regardless, long-haul flights are making a comeback, hopefully for good.

The American low-cost airline JetBlue Airways announced on Tuesday a new promotion with ultra-low fares for American travelers. The Big Fall Sale, as the company calls this offer, allows customers to purchase flights for as low as $39 and also book great package deals including roundtrips and hotel nights.

All deals will be available until August 30 at midnight. Customers can use the carrier search tool and find the best fares for national and international destinations. Travelers can also choose from great bundle options.

Here’s what travelers should know about the sale and a quick guide on how to find the best deals and take advantage of JetBlue’s Fall sale.

What Travelers Should Know About The Big Fall Sale

Before jumping into booking flights or waiting for too long, those interested in the Big Fall Sale should first understand the terms and conditions. These are the main considerations:
- The special prices expire next Tuesday 30 at 11:59 pm.
- The sale applies for travel from September 6 through November 16 and excludes Fridays and Sundays.
- The lowest fares apply to Blue Basic.
- Fares are one-way and non-stop unless mentioned otherwise.
- Tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
The carrier has clarified that prices include taxes and fees. However certain services and considerations apply and might vary depending on the route. For example, travel windows, blackout dates, or choosing different days can affect fare prices or availability. Some flights do not operate during the sale window or on certain days.

Fares are subject to limited availability and might change without notice. Once you select an attractive option, the final price might change depending on availability. If you are sure about the day and destination, like the final price, and want to take advantage of the deal, book your flight as soon as possible!

How To Get Cheap Fares

By default, JetBlue’s Big Fall Sale page features deals from New York City. Travelers will be able to see some low fare prices like flights from New York to Boston for just $49 for one way and a vacation package of two nights in a hotel and roundtrip flights for just $265.

Once you click on your preferred choice, the platform gives you more details. For example, if you choose the vacation package, it shows that the hotel would be the Hyatt House Boston Waltham which has 3 out of 5 stars on Trip Advisor.

If you are interested, you can click on the button “Select Dates”, JetBlue’s platform will show date alternatives for the bundle. However, that special price of $265 is no longer available.

The quickest and most accurate strategy would be to see all deals from your preferred city. You just have to click on the pencil next to the city name to choose your preferred location.

JetBlue has deals for over 60 airports in the United States and also for destinations in Canada, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. But not all locations have many options for this Fall sale.

Let’s say you live in the Los Angeles area. The platform will show great deals like flights to Las Vegas for just $39 and hotel and roundtrip flights starting at $63. When selecting the flight option, the page will show a calendar with the different prices available, and you will usually find the promised low fares.

From our search, when selecting the bundle, prices tend to differ. The cheapest option for the Excalibur Hotel and Casino featured at $63 including two nights and flights, is now $90.80 per night, for a total of $181.59 for two nights for two travelers. Travelers get to choose from free room options or special rooms with extra costs ranging from $1.12 per night to $11.20.

There’s a resort fee warning of $25 and extra fees for parking. Travelers must remember that Las Vegas is known for its hidden hotel fees and this might not be the exemption.

There might be some extra fees that must be paid at the hotel, but JetBlue’s final price was still $181.59 after selecting the cheapest flights. It’s your turn to book your best deals!

Frontier Airlines made new announcements this Wednesday. The low-cost carrier will be serving new domestic and international routes. As part of the celebration, Frontier is offering tickets starting at $69!

The American company will be expanding services from Atlanta to fascinating destinations starting in November and December 2022. From Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) the carrier will serve these 5 destinations:
- Nassau, Bahamas
- San Salvador, El Salvador
- Kingston, Jamaica
- San Jose, Costa Rica
- Liberia, Costa Rica
In other press releases, the carrier also announced two new routes:

The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, one of the world’s busiest airports, will offer more low-cost connections for travelers through Frontier Airlines.

Jake Filene, senior vice president, customers at Frontier Airlines, shared their excitement about these new routes and said: “We now offer an extensive range of flight options, including an impressive roster of international destinations, providing Atlanta-area consumers even more opportunities to enjoy our ‘Low Fares Done Right.’ With the addition of these new routes, Frontier now serves 36 nonstop destinations in total from ATL.”

These are the main details of the new routes from Atlanta to:
- Nassau, Bahamas (NAS): service starts on November 5, one time per week and the offering fare starts at $69.
- San Salvador, El Salvador (SAL): service starts on November 6, two times per week and the offering fare starts at $69.
- Kingston, Jamaica (KIN): service starts on November 7, two times per week and the offering fare starts at $89.

Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial at Frontier Airlines, said: “We see the demand for our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ in both markets, and we’re honored to be the only carrier offering this exciting new service. These are the main details of the new service from Denver International Airport to:

The other new international route will connect more American travelers to Mexico. The carrier will offer a new service from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla Guadalajara International Airport (GDL).
