    Skiing in the Dolomites

Nearby is the Taos Ski Valley resort which receives an average of 300 inches of snow per year. Snowshoeing in the Carson National Forest and bathing in the Stagecoach Hot Springs are also top winter activities for Taos residents and tourists.

One of the most fun aspects of any vacation is choosing where to stay. There are some real gems out there along with some real duds.

As fun as a hotel stay can be, it can also be a nightmare! Travelers tend to put the most effort into picking the perfect place to stay when booking a vacation.

The U.S. is home to some of the top vacation spots in the world. Naturally, there are going to be some amazing hotels to choose from.

These 10 hotels have been awarded as the best in the U.S. for Travel Off Path’s Best In Travel 2024 Awards:

Top Hotels In The U.S. For 2024 - Best In Travel Award

    10) Hotel del Coronado

San Diego’s most iconic hotel draws in a crowd no matter the season.

Famous for being featured in a Marilyn Monroe film, this timeless luxury hotel has stood the test of time.

Set on beautiful beaches with views of San Diego to your right and Baja to your left, you are in an American paradise.

‘The del’ as locals call it, features a world-class spa, ocean-view restaurants and a tunnel of eclectic shops. Make sure to take the elevator in the lobby; it’s about as close to a time machine as you’ll ever see.

    9) The Kimberly Hotel

New York City is an easy choice for a vacation, but picking the right hotel can be daunting! The Kimberly is your answer.

Size does indeed matter in the Big Apple. Some hotels give a new definition to the word “cozy”. The Kimberly is not one of them as they have the largest suites in the city for the best price – hands down!

Guests love the top-notch service from the front desk to the trendy bars and restaurants, including one of the top-rated rooftops in the world.

Or if you’d like to stay in, take advantage of the bar and kitchenette in your room. This Midtown gem is a rarity with its plush amenities.

    8) The St. Regis Aspen Resort

Aspen is synonymous with both a luxe getaway and the temptation to quote Dumb and Dumber. Travelers can pack up their Samsonites and head to the St. Regis for a trip of a lifetime.

This 5-star resort backs up Aspen’s upscale reputation with the gorgeous backdrop of snowy mountains and easy access to the town’s charming streets.

Beyond hitting the slopes, guests love staying in as well. One recent guest loved the on-site bakery so much that she felt she ‘was in a French bakery in Paris’.

From the friendly staff and heavenly beds to the heated pool and hot tub overlooking the mountains, this place is clearly a winner.

    7) Kehoe House, Historic Inns of Savannah

Compared to all our other winners, the Kehoe House is the most unassuming. It’s no fabulous resort or sleek new hotel; it’s a historic B&B that oozes charm in the heart of Savannah.

Award-winning 2 years in a row by TripAdvisor, we are proud to award them as well. This small property is a hot commodity, so it’s best to book in advance.

Built in 1892, this treasured house only holds 13 rooms but has continued to make lasting memories for guests.

It’s the perfect place for weddings, celebrations, or “just because” couples’ trips. No matter your reason, arrive on an empty stomach as the cooked-to-order breakfasts and homemade cookies have rave reviews.

    6) The Adolphus

Deep in the heart of Texas lies The Adolphus – an iconic landmark in the center of downtown Dallas. The hotel has undergone a full restoration so guests can experience a mix of old and new.

This isn’t just any ordinary hotel. While this property celebrates its history dating back to 1912, it’s updated to meet the needs of modern-day guests with unique amenities like a barber shop in the lobby.

Guests looking for a good time can check out live music every night Wednesday through Friday and a social hour every Monday through Thursday.

Each room is spacious and equipped with cushy King-size beds, with many offering stunning city views to scope out restaurants, bars, and shops downtown or neighboring Deep Ellum.

    5) Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas

Is Vegas ever a bad idea? Negative. Neither is choosing the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas as your stay. There may be no wider mix of hotel options than Las Vegas, but ultra luxury always tops them all.

Set in the heart of the famous Strip, guests will have all Vegas has to offer at their fingertips if they choose to leave the hotel grounds.

With an award-winning spa and 8th-floor pool, this is the ultimate place to relax away from the action. In fact, why not check out the action below from the 23rd-floor Tea Lounge?

The rooms are phenomenal no matter your budget, ranging from standard City View rooms to more plush, spacious suites overlooking one of the world’s most premiere destinations.

    4) Beverly Hills Hotel

The Beverly Hills Hotel has been a staple of Los Angeles for decades and that remains true today. This historical ritzy hotel is one of your best bets for a celebrity sighting.

You can hobnob with the elites of Hollywood in the mecca of southern California. The Beverly Hills Hotel exudes nostalgia with its vintage exterior and various tributes to its place in history.

Spending time at the pool further cements this hotel’s time capsule vibes yet still provides modern-day luxury.

Guests love ordering fancy-schmancy cocktails at the famous Polo Lounge, and if it fits the budget, booking one of the 23 bungalows is a must.

    3) Waldorf Astoria Washington D.C.

Waldorf is so nice we awarded them twice! Post Offices are boring, so Waldorf decided to transform one into an immaculate 5-star hotel.

Needless to say, they succeeded, and guests who stay here have been thrilled. There couldn’t be a better location to stay in DC than this spot on famous Pennsylvania Avenue between some of the world’s most recognizable landmarks.

The hotel encapsulates the city culture as it makes you feel, well, presidential. The Grand King room, for example, is stunning and makes you feel like you underpaid for your stay.

The work desk alone will have you questioning if you were sworn into office in your dreams. If you’re looking for an upgrade, the elegant Bi-Level Loft comes with a library, plush King bed, and tranquil bathroom.

    2) The Peninsula Beverly Hills

If the vintage Beverly Hills Hotel isn’t your jam, perhaps a more modern luxe hotel such as the Peninsula will tickle your fancy.

Another marvelous place to mingle with celebs is the Peninsula’s rooftop restaurant. This 5-star hotel is an urban oasis in LA’s most exclusive neighborhood.

Guests can expect all the glitz and glamour 5-star hotels have to offer, but where else can you bring back a pillowcase embroidered with your name as a keepsake?

Should you choose a suite, this room option comes with a free BMW for the duration of your stay. But, should you choose to stay in, you can cozy up at the piano bar, indulging in delicious dim sum.

    1) The Windsor Court

New Orleans is always a fun getaway. Staying at the Windsor Court makes your trip even more special.

They claim they are ‘a haven for those who seek the luxuries of revelry, comfort, and beauty through unique experiences in the magical city of New Orleans’.

Rarely does a hotel back up their motto, but it’s clear from the outpouring of glowing reviews that they do indeed follow through with mentions of ‘southern hospitality’ and delightful ‘afternoon tea’.

They even offer a Pampered Pets package, so your furry friends can be treated like royalty too. This elegant hotel is on another level from the moment you walk into the vast array of roses in the lobby.

No detail goes unnoticed at The Windsor Court, whether it be paper lining trash bins with logo-pressed tissue or delivering freshly baked pralines to your room on a silver platter each night.

What may be most shocking is how affordable it is for such a luxurious hotel. Staying here is the best bang for your buck for all the high-end amenities you get in return, even offering your 4th night free.

The Premium Suites are to die for and easily solidify why The Windsor Court is the top hotel in the U.S.

These Are The 5 Cheapest U.S. Destinations To Visit This Winter According To Priceline

As the holidays approach and prices sneakily increase to their yearly peaks, travelers are starting to become more budget-conscious, which means that lavish getaways at 5-star resorts are simply out of the question for many Americans looking to change their pace this winter.

Contrary to popular belief, though, a limited travel budget doesn’t automatically translate to a sub-par experience – it all comes down to making the right choice when it comes to the destination.

    Jacksonville skyline and fountain, Florida

Through its newest report, Priceline revealed that there’s no shortage of fun, attraction-filled towns and cities scattered across the U.S. that promise travelers the holidays of a lifetime without breaking the bank.

These five destinations, in particular, need to be on every budget-conscious traveler’s bucket list right now:

    1. Branson, Missouri

Boasting average nightly hotel fees of just $107 in December, Branson, Missouri takes its rightful place as the top destination on today’s list.

    aerial view of Branson, Missouri

Nestled in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, the Midwestern town has always enjoyed a reputation as a hidden gem thanks to its vibrant live entertainment scene, reasonably-priced hotels, and cozy atmosphere.

However, music and theater enthusiasts are far from the only ones able to appreciate Branson’s allure.

Nature lovers can marvel at the picturesque landscapes surrounding the town of 13,000 people, of which the majestic Ozarks are by far the most eye-catching.

This time of year, the mountainous terrain gets adorned with a pristine blanket of snow, providing the kind of breathtakingly serene backdrop that you’ll be hard-pressed to find in bigger tourist hotspots.

    2. Jacksonville, Florida

The Sunshine State recently broke its all-time tourism record, proving once again that a warm climate, a laid-back atmosphere, and abundant entertainment options are as appreciated as ever among American travelers.

    view of Jacksonville

There’s no better place to find all that and more than Jacksonville, a lively yet budget-friendly city known for its mild weather and quiet, gold-sanded beaches that allow travelers to sunbathe alongside the Atlantic Ocean without being bothered by chaotic crowds.

City trippers won’t want to miss out on the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, which offers an immersive cultural experience at a fraction of the cost of similar institutions in other, more tourist-packed cities.

    3. Kissimmee, Florida

Just a 30-minute drive away from Orlando, you’ll find Kissimmee, Flordia’s second entry on today’s list, and a place that offers much more than what meets the eye.

By going to Kissimmee this winter, travelers can get the best of both worlds – they’ll be driving distance away from the state’s most iconic attractions, including Disney World and Universal Studios, while also enjoying the perks of staying somewhere where everything’s so reasonably priced.

An arial shot of Kissimmee Florida, the cheapest place to stay in Florida

It won’t be hard to find a hotel here for less than $128 a night, and that money will get you much more than just a place to stay in between theme park visits.

Here, you’ll also get to explore the area’s criminally underrated nature reserves (the Shingle Creek Regional Park, for example, is a must-see), dreamy airboat rides, and exciting outdoor events where you’ll create lifelong memories.

    4. Atlantic City, New Jersey

While Atlantic City has long become synonymous with bustling casinos, the city offers much more than just high-stakes entertainment.

Atlantic city boardwalk and Ferris wheel with the ocean

Now that winter is approaching, the place has started to transform into a peaceful, serene destination that invites travelers to experience the iconic boardwalk sans the suffocating crowds.

Don’t let the flashy exterior of the hotels and resorts here fool you – their prices are extremely competitive, allowing you to experience the gorgeous Absecon Lighthouse, Gardener’s Basin, and Steel Pier without breaking the bank.

    5. Houston, Texas

The No. 5 spot in today’s list is held by none other than Texas’s largest cultural center and what many consider to be North America’s most diverse city – Houston.

    houston

The bustling metropolis makes for the perfect destination for those who want to feel the beat of a colorful urban center even though they’re on a budget.

With its mild temperatures and reasonable prices (especially compared to other destinations of its kind), Houston invites travelers to make the most out of their winter getaway and marvel at the iconic Museum District, Hermann Park, Space Center Houston, and the Houston Zoo.

  • These 5 U.S. Airlines Are Most Likely To Experience Flight Delays Right Now

These 5 U.S. Airlines Are Most Likely To Experience Flight Delays Right Now

    [ad_1]

    Share The Article

    Last Updated

The holidays are just around the corner, leading to some of the busiest travel weeks of the year. Flight delays are extremely common at this time of year, especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Flying can already be a stressful experience, but delays can make it even more of a hassle.

    Woman Waiting at Airport

Some of the best ways to avoid flight delays are to book with an airline with a high rate of on-time flights and to book a flight early in the morning — statistically speaking, it’s much less likely to be delayed than one later in the day.

According to new data from UpgradedPoints, these are the U.S. airlines that are most likely to experience flight delays right now.

    Woman Waiting On Delayed Flight

    1. Frontier Airlines

The worst airline for flight delays right now is Frontier Airlines. Flights with this budget carrier have a 31.9% chance of being delayed.

Rather than roll the dice and risk an almost 1-in-3 chance of having your flight delayed, it’s better to choose a more reliable airline for flights this winter.

Frontier is also currently facing other issues, including a class-action lawsuit over the airline’s $599 “unlimited flight” pass that was launched earlier this year.

    Frontier Airlines Planes

    2. Southwest Airlines

Southwest Airlines had a massive meltdown last year right around Christmas, leading to thousands of flight delays and cancellations.

Many travelers questioned whether booking with Southwest was safe in light of the total operations failure. And while it’s likely that Southwest will be working extra hard to avoid a repeat incident this winter, you may not want to take your chances.

And according to historical data, Southwest flights still have a 31.8% chance of being delayed, making the airline almost as unreliable as Frontier.

Southwest plane flying against a blue sky

    3. JetBlue

Another less-than-reliable airline with a high chance of delayed flights is JetBlue. This New York-based carrier does not have the best track record when it comes to on-time flights.

Although it’s not quite as bad as Frontier or Southwest, flying on JetBlue means that you still have a whopping 30.8% chance of flight delays when you travel.

    JetBlue plane on the runway

    4. Allegiant Air

Next up on the list of airlines likely to have delays is Allegiant Air. This budget airline is not particularly reliable, so even though you may save money booking your flight, you might also have to contend with unexpected delays.

Allegiant Air flights have a 29.2% chance of being delayed.

    Allegiant Airlines plane

    5. Spirit Airlines

Finally, we have Spirit Airlines. Although this budget carrier is the butt of many jokes for being a less-than-ideal way to travel, it’s actually not as bad as some other U.S. airlines when it comes to delays.

When flying with Spirit, you have a 28.1% chance of experiencing a flight delay.

    Spirit Airlines plane

Which Airlines Have The Least Delays?

So now that you know which airlines are most likely to experience flight delays right now (and which airlines to avoid!), here are the airlines with the least delays.

Although you might be tempted by ultra-low fares with an airline like Frontier or Spirit, it can be worth the extra money to book with a more reliable airline.

Woman at airport looking out the window at planes on the tarmac

Here are the top three airlines with the least delays right now:

    • Alaska Airlines: 20.3% chance of delay
    • Delta Air Lines: 19.1% chance of delay
    • Hawaiian Airlines: 15.6% chance of delay

Flights can be delayed for many reasons, including problems with the aircraft, staffing issues, weather, and more, but these three airlines experience the fewest delays.

There’s no surefire way to avoid flight delays (as nice as that would be!), but you can check out this guide for some more tips on how to escape the dreaded delay or cancellation.

Why This Stunning U.S. Beach Destination Offers The Ultimate Vacation Vibe

Have you ever tried explaining how awesome a place is that you’ve visited to a friend or family and words seem to come up short?

There is something special that grabs your attention when you visit, but how do you describe the way it captured your interest while there?

A term I often use is vibe —and I’m not alone. According to a recent Expedia report,  Vibe Check-Ins are trending. People are picking their hotels and destinations more and more in search of the ultimate vibe, and there’s one beach destination and hotel that outshines the rest.

    Aerial-view-of-the-W-Hotel-in-Fort-Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale — The Ultimate Vibe

Until recently, I’d considered Fort Lauderdale an offshoot of Miami. Why check out Fort Lauderdale when the bigger and better Miami is right next door, right?

    Wrong!

Fort Lauderdale is an absolute gem of a destination in its own right, and I can’t wait to go back and explore more of what it has to offer. While Miami may be bigger, I certainly wouldn’t call it better.

From shopping on Las Olas to spending an afternoon basking in the sun on the gorgeous beaches, there is one thing Fort Lauderdale is not lacking in — The Ultimate Vacation Vibe.

View of the beach in las olas fort lauderdale

    Vibe-worthy Luxury Stays

A destination on its own doesn’t quite fulfill that vacation vibe so many of us crave, you’ve got to couple it with an incredible place to stay.

Don’t worry, Fort Lauderdale has the ultimate luxury stay that offers an unparalleled vibe  — W Fort Lauderdale.

If you’ve never stayed in a W Hotel, let me fill you in. Get ready for modern design, amazing luxury perks, top-notch locations, and unique experiences. W Hotels do not disappoint, and the W Fort Lauderdale is no exception.

From the second you walk in to the moment you hit the rooftop pool you’ll feel like a local celeb basking in the unique vibe that only the W Fort Lauderdale can offer.

The W Fort Lauderdale has the ultimate vacation vibe!

    ♬ Like a Dream – Mauve

One of the coolest parts about the W Fort Lauderdale was a really unique perk that any guest can take advantage of while staying there — the Luxury Essentials Cart.

Just let the front desk know you’d like the cart brought to your room, and you’ll be able to borrow any item you like for the duration of your stay.

If that doesn’t scream good vibes I don’t know what does!

While most of the accessories were admittedly better-suited for women, I still had to see what was available 😂. They also plan to add more accessories for men in the future.

    Endless Things To Do

Fort Lauderdale is packed FULL of things to do, and that’s if you even feel the need to leave the W!

The W Fort Lauderdale has the perfect place to soak up the sun in style on its rooftop WET deck, complete with an amazing pool, cabanas, and staff walking around constantly to make sure your drink is always full.

Another cool thing about staying at the W Fort Lauderdale is the events they have at night. We were able to take part in cocktails with a live artist and music, and a really fun game night.

And don’t worry, if all you want to do is rest and relax, the AWAY spa is just an elevator ride away from your room. I’m still dreaming about the AMAZING massage I got while staying there.

Looking to get out of the hotel for a while? Fort Lauderdale won’t disappoint. Go for a bike ride along the beach, go rug-making, try a ton of different foods at Sistrunk Marketplace, or simply walk across the street to the gorgeous beach in front of the W.

If you’re looking for an amazing dinner spot, look no further than Rocco’s Tacos, and don’t leave without trying the freshly made guacamole! This was my favorite dinner of the trip and definitely a place I’ll be visiting again.

    Perfect Weather

You can’t talk about a beach destination with ultimate vacation vibes without bringing up how perfect the weather is.

December brings temperatures in the high 70s, perfect for a day out at the beach or an afternoon sunning out on the WET deck.

Rain is quick to pass, and nighttime temperatures are mild enough to walk around comfortably with evening wear.

Whatever vibe you’re going for, beach bum, old money, or fit and fab, Fort Lauderdale has the perfect weather to accommodate.

    Gorgeous Beaches

Fort Lauderdale offers WAY more than just beaches, but it is still the perfect place to lay in the sand and forget about the 9 to 5 waiting for you back home.

Whether you want to nap all day while working on your tan or get a little more active on a paddleboard, the beaches in Fort Lauderdale will not disappoint.

Plus, since the city is basically sitting right on the beach, you don’t have to go far to grab food, go shopping, or switch things up with a massage at the AWAY spa.

    It’s Worth It

If you’ve been wondering if Fort Lauderdale is worth spending a few days checking out on your next trip, add it to your list!

It’s a wonderful slice of Florida that I already can’t wait to visit again, and when I do, I 100% will be checking back into the hotel with the coolest vibe in town — The W Fort Lauderdale.

Every day that goes by is another day closer to the frigid winter temperatures in many parts of the U.S., so there is no better time to start making plans for a sunny escape.

Fall is a wonderful time of year where many top destinations have cooler weather, cheaper prices and less crowds.

Of course, many seek out the colorful fall foliage too. But winter is generally when it’s time to get back to the beach.

    Skyline view of Tampa, Florida

One of the most visited states in the U.S. should be on your radar. Florida is home to some of the top beaches in North America.

Travelers love heading to Orlando for the best theme park in the world, Miami for its luxury and culture, but what about another Florida city that is often overshadowed?

Tampa Should Be Your Next Winter Escape

    tampa theater sign

Florida is such a popular state for tourism, it’s easy to see how even a large city like Tampa can be overlooked.

Located on the western coast of the state, this underrated city is the perfect U.S. getaway this winter. It’s just as accessible as the state’s other top destinations and you will be surprised by how much you love it.

Miami may be the mecca for Cuban culture in the U.S., but Tampa may be a close second with delicious cuisine inspired by one of our closest Caribbean neighbors, along with fresh, locally sourced seafood.

There is plenty to do in the city as it is home to 3 professional sports teams, the Busch Gardens amusement park, the world class Florida Aquarium and the scenic Tampa Riverwalk.

    Always Summery

No matter what time of year it is, you can count on warm weather in Tampa. In fact, summer may be the worst time to go to avoid the humidity.

Since now is the perfect time to plan your winter travels, Tampa should rank high on your list to escape the bitter cold.

There are always sunny days ahead in Tampa, so make sure to pack your tank tops, shorts and swimwear.

Many tourists love taking a bike along downtown’s bayfront promenades. The enjoyable weather tends to be consistently in the 70s throughout the day, rarely dipping below that mark even in the heart of winter.

A Gateway To Florida’s Top Beaches

You have may heard Tampa be referred to as “Tampa Bay” as well. The city is set along a picturesque bay, but the best beaches are outside the city.

The skyline is a beautiful sight nonetheless as a backdrop along the city’s waterfront. Tampa has Uber and Lyft should you choose to get around that way, but most commonly tourists opt for a rental car at the conveniently located airport just minutes from top attractions.

    clearwater florida beach

Tampa is simply a great place to be outside. You definitely won’t be lacking Vitamin D here. What better place to enjoy the weather than the ‘best beach in America’?

Many beachgoers claim Clearwater as ‘America’s best beach’ and is only about 20 miles from downtown Tampa.

Although, Siesta Keys, roughly an hour away from Tampa, has something to say about that. Clearwater is very popular amongst locals with its postcard-worthy white sand, calm crystal blue waters and overall relaxing vibes.

    siesta keys beach sign

Others may prefer to stay closer to the city. There is Ben T. Davis beach just a short drive from the airport to get your vacay started right away.

Lastly, there is Honeymoon Island Beach which looks as exotic and pristine as it sounds. Set on an unspoiled strip of beaches stretching 4 miles, this is the place for pure serenity to enjoy a relaxing beach day and finish it off with a beautiful sunset.

    More Affordable In Winter

Winter tends to see lower prices in Tampa for tourists, especially at hotels. Whether you choose to stay at a new boujee resort, Airbnb or many of the city’s recognizable chains, prices tend to be on the lower end.

December is the best winter month to save. January and February tend to see slightly higher rates, but should still be more affordable than the busy summer season.

Between now to January offers travelers the best bang for their buck across the board, including flights.

Why This Major U.S. City Is One Of My Favorite Destinations For Solo Travel

More often than not, big cities hold a bad reputation amongst most solo travelers due to their immense populations – but what if this was actually an advantage?

While it’s important to exercise caution anywhere in the world, sometimes more people = a greater chance to meet others while traveling alone.

magic hour rooftop nyc woman sitting on statue

There’s nothing worse as a solo traveler than walking around desolate streets at night, but in the city that never sleeps, that’s never an issue!

There are of course a few parts of the city I’d personally avoid, but for the most part people will always be around, and police presence is high (which provides a level of comfort).

I couldn’t help but feel a mix of emotions as I pulled up to the concrete jungle for the umpteenth time. New York is a creative escape, a bustling metropolis, and believe it or not, one of the best cities in the U.S. for solo travel – here’s why.

    moxy hotel nyc

A Hotel Made for Solo Travelers

During my time in the Big Apple, I had the pleasure of staying at the Moxy Hotel, Times Square. With 5 hotels scattered throughout the city (each with their own unique charm and selling point), they really are the perfect place to situate yourself if you’re traveling alone.

The playful soul and innovative designs of the brand are evident upon arrival. The friendly hotel staff is ready for all guests, with a quick and smooth check-in process. If you think the chandelier in the lobby area is fun, wait until you see the rooms!

The standard room layouts seem to have been created with solo travelers in mind. Compact, quaint, and easily accessible, everything is organized in a studio-apartment-type fashion. Other room types are made for accommodating all, with bunk beds and sleeping arrangements for bigger groups.

Make your way to the second floor to find 2 of the reasons that make this city-based hotel perfect for those traveling alone.

Bar Moxy and Legasea are located right inside the Moxy, making it easy to sit at either bar, eat, and chat the night away with fellow travelers or a few locals. (If you visit soon, there’s even a morning breakfast pop-up by Cafe D’Avignon!)

For sweeping city views, head on up to the rooftop bar that is Magic Hour. The eccentric bar is often decorated with seasonal surprises (and even features a rotating seating area. Brunch, lunch, or dinner are sure to be a good time up here – with a couple decorative cocktails on the side of course.

It really is the ideal spot to base yourself in New York if you’re looking to be in the hustle and bustle.

    Judgement-Free Zone

As a Brit living in the U.S., I often struggle with being a ‘tourist in my own country.’ Unlike Europe, where solo travelers are a dime a dozen, the U.S. hasn’t fully caught onto the solo travel trend quite as much just yet.

While it’s certainly more prevalent than in the past, hostels and dining alone still aren’t super common in all places. A city where anything goes, New York really has it all. With diverse neighborhoods, cultures, and people, you’ll never feel out of place here.

In a city where it’s very common to see Power Rangers or Cowboys strolling through Times Square, do you think anyone would really judge you for eating a meal alone?

It’s pretty normal here to come across people from all walks of life, various countries, expats, New York  locals, and plenty of solo travelers – so you won’t be short of new friends to meet!

    Diverse Neighborhoods For All

One of my favorite things about New York is the neighborhoods within the city and how different they each are. Luxurious brownstones and tree-lined streets to quirky areas with thrift stores.

5 Reasons Why Now Is The Best Time To Visit This Southern U.S. State

Oozing in Southern Charm and low-hanging Spanish moss, this U.S. state is known for its hospitality, welcoming culture, and historical streets.

In the Southeastern part of the U.S., surrounded by Tennessee and North Carolina, Georgia claims the title of 24th largest state, with some of the friendliest people!

If you’re looking for a quick getaway, here are 5 reasons why now is the best time to visit:

People on a carriage ride in Georgia

    Pretty Cities

We’ve all seen the movies featuring those beautifully decorated Southern homes, cobblestone streets, overgrown trees, and endless landscapes. While the entire state is diverse in its regions, there are certainly a few stand-out cities that fit the mold.

Savannah was actually ranked in the top five of “Best Cities in the U.S.” by Travel and Leisure — and it’s well-deserved! Savannah offers river-facing views, spooky tales, 22 public squares, old mansions, and the liveliness of River Street.

For a quick change-up, Atlanta is another popular spot to visit and offers a completely different vibe than Savannah altogether. This buzzing capital city is a hub for nightlife, city vibes, and an incredible variety of restaurants not to be missed.

Don’t Skip Out On The Food Scene

If there’s one thing Georgia prides itself on, it’s the state’s eclectic food scene. One of the biggest factors leading to Savannah taking the top 5 spot? It’s number of delicious restaurants scattered throughout the city. (The Grayson was even voted one of the best by Bon Appetit!)

We’re talking biscuits and gravy, shrimp and grits, fried chicken, beignets… Georgia has it all. But, if you’re not in the mood for a Southern-special, there are also other restaurant options that’ll satisfy every appetite. Browse some restaurant favorites in Savannah and Atlanta here.

    Charming Stays

If you’re planning a trip to the Peach State, then you must be looking for that Southern hospitality, right!? Luckily for visitors, that charm is evident the moment you arrive.

I had the pleasure of staying at the River Street Inn twice during my stay in Savannah, and have never been treated with such respect and hospitality as I have here. The entire state of Georgia is filled with cozy accommodations waiting to be explored. From luxury stays to beach-front escapes– they’re all here.

    Festivals & Events

Holiday festivities, food festivals, family festivals. If there’s something to be celebrated, Georgia’s got you covered.

Statewide for the foreseeable future, there are over 40 events scheduled for all to attend — so you’ll really never run out of things to do!

Check out the full list here.

    Shoulder Season

To be honest, there’s really no ‘bad time’ to visit Georgia. What you’re looking for, activities you’d like to try, and prices you want to pay will all factor into the time of year you’ll travel.

Many travelers overlook shoulder seasons- which we don’t understand why! Especially for somewhere like Georgia where the weather is still manageable, the crowds are somewhat fewer, and prices drop- we’d get booking ASAP!

If you’re looking to visit Savannah, this will help you decide.

    An Added Bonus: Mild Weather!

While it’s not in the 80s, the weather is still reasonable in the winter months and won’t keep you locked indoors! Ranging between the 50s and 60s, it’s mild enough to get outside and try some activities around this vibrant state.

If you’re feeling adventurous, these are some of the best things to do in the winter!

Why This Sunny U.S. State Makes For The Perfect Winter Getaway

When winter comes, many of us start to dream of faraway destinations and sunny locations.

While there are more than enough destinations that tick these boxes in Latin America and the Caribbean, there are many places stateside where you can have a great winter vacation as well, with one sunny U.S. state in particular.

Arizona is one state that is a great winter holiday spot, it’s warm and sunny in parts, and snowy and cozy in others.

The diversity of the state’s landscapes and climate is a huge bonus, meaning it offers something for everyone.

Phoenix, Arizona, USA downtown cityscape at dusk.

You can enjoy wineries and the outdoors, or spas and hiking, but there is more than enough to do no matter the weather.

It’s also easily connected with more and more flights to other major U.S. cities.

Aside from Sedona, Flagstaff, and other beautiful destinations, there is of course the Grand Canyon to enjoy, a stunner in any weather.

Here’s Why Arizona Makes A Perfect Winter Getaway:

    Weather For Everyone To Enjoy

Heading to Arizona in the winter is no secret, just ask any snowbird from up north, who has likely been flocking to this state for years to escape their hometown’s harsh winters.

When most visit in the winter, they head to the south of the state, where the average winter highs are in the 70s, and there are over 350 days of sunshine throughout the year.

In the southern part of the state, such as Phoenix, Tucson, or Yuma, you can hike in the sun-soaked cacti regions, and golf, tan, or just lounge your day away in the sun.

But there is also another side to Arizona in the winter, and that’s in the northern region, where places such as Flagstaff or the Grand Canyon can and do get nearly buried in snowstorms.

While this might make driving a bit hard at times, if you prepared for them they do offer some cozy adventures and epic natural views.

    Beautiful Scenery

As one of the largest states in the country, Arizona has over 100,000 square miles of stunning views, with everything from deserts, mountains, canyons, and beautiful towns and cities.

Some places might be more famous than others, but make sure to check out some underrated gems scattered around the state as well. Always keep your eye on the forecast so you don’t get stranded anywhere if a storm rolls in.

With places such as Saguaro National Park, Sedona, Page (and the famous Antelope Canyon), The Petrified Forest National Park, Flagstaff, Jerome, and others to visit, there are more than enough places to come enjoy the vast array of scenery in the winter months.

    Endless Activities

In the south, it’s hiking, golfing, relaxing at a spa, or tanning by the pool that many enjoy in the winter months.

However, there are also many holiday things to see and do, such as the Phoenix Zoo’s popular ZooLights or Tucson’s Winterhaven Festival of Lights.

Of course, those who head to the snowy areas enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, and every other fun in the snow activity you can think of. A visit to the Grand Canyon is a great idea; just keep an eye on the weather.

It can be unpredictable and the roads can become impassable, but the views of this wonder dusted in snow will be worth the extra planning.

    Location Location Location

Arizona is well located to visit other great winter destinations in the American Southwest as well.

Places such as New Mexico, Southern California, Las Vegas, and further beyond are all within easy reach via some epic road trips.

Or you could head down to Mexico and enjoy winter from one of the beaches of Baja California or a mystical Magic Town

Flights to and from Arizona are frequent and can be cheap if you watch them ahead of time. Phoenix is the most common place to fly into, but Flagstaff and Tucson are also other options.
