1. Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone national park was granted UNESCO status in 1978: The first of two locations in the country to be given the honor.

The most famous attraction in Yellowstone is Old Faithful: a cone geyser with an eruption height of between 106 and 185 ft. The geyser erupts between every 44 minutes and two hours, meaning that you’re sure to see this natural phenomenon on your visit.

Disney fans have something familiar to look forward to this month. Walt Disney World just announced they are bringing back popular annual passes.

These passes were a fan favorite for Disney lovers but were previously discontinued over a year ago.

The mammoth family entertainment company posted a blog earlier this week with exciting details of what’s to come in Orlando’s main attraction.

Many former pass holders have practically been begging for the return of these passes. Disney officials confirmed, ”we heard you loud and clear!”.

What Disney Fans Will Receive With An Annual Pass

Beginning April 20, passes can be purchased online directly through Disney’s official website.

Although, quantities will be limited. The expectation is for certain passes to sell out quickly!

Those who are able to snag a pass in time will benefit greatly from the new amenities. Disney has taken feedback from prior users and made necessary changes to make this re-launch a hit!

Starting April 18, those with an Annual Pass will have access to theme parks after 2 pm without needing to make a reservation, with the exception of the Magic Kingdom on weekends.

Currently, Disney does sell $399 annual passes, but it is limited to residents of Florida for the Pixie Dust pass.

So, this will not be a new addition to the lineup. Current Pixie Dust consumers will have the option to upgrade once passes become available for sale online.

Those who take advantage of the new passes can expect:

- Disney’s Animal Kingdom celebrates their 25th anniversary
Disney Pirate Pass

First, Disney will launch the Disney Pirate Pass. This pass is one step above the current Pixie Pass in terms of how it will benefit guests.

Just like the Pixie Pass, this option is limited only to those with a Florida address.

Main benefits:
- Discounts on souvenirs, food, and more
- Hold reservations for up to 4 days at a time
- Vacationers staying at select hotels can add additional reserved times
- Admission to Disney World theme parks on most weekdays (some limitations may apply)
Pricing for this pass will be $749 plus taxes. Financing options are available.

Disney Sorcerer Pass

Next in line with more perks than the Pirate Pass is the new Sorcerer Pass. This pass is not limited to Florida residents, as Disney Vacation Club members are also welcome to purchase.

Vacation Club members will actually have access to a pre-sale on April 13 as part of their membership privileges.

This pass has the exact benefits of the Pirate Pass. However, instead of holding reservations for 4 days, Sorcerer pass holders will be able to extend that by an extra day.

In addition, they will also have theme park parking perks to start a fun day off right.

Pricing for this pass will be $969 plus taxes. Financing options are available.

Disney Incredi-Pass

Anyone anywhere is free to purchase the highly anticipated Disney Incredi-Pass. Blockout dates apply to both the Pirate and Sorcerer varieties.

The Incredi-Pass, however, does not have any blockout date restrictions at all. Users will also be able to hold theme park reservations for up to 5 days.

Pricing for this high-end pass will be $1399 plus taxes. Financing options are available.

3. Macquarie Island, Australia

Known as Australia’s Subantarctic jewel, visitors can only visit Macquarie Island by small expedition ship. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is an island nature reserve located about halfway between Antarctica and New Zealand in the southwestern Pacific Ocean.

One claim to fame is that it’s the only place on earth where royal penguins breed, although you will also see many king penguins, elephant seals, and much more wildlife.

With a natural landscape virtually unaffected by humans, you can also see the only place in the world where the Earth’s mantle rises above sea level.

4. Laya, Bhutan

While the entire country of Bhutan is a remote and off-the-beaten-path destination on its own, there does lie a small village that is truly a place for the most intrepid travelers.

Known as the highest settlement in the country, Laya Village has only a little over 100 houses and remains truly authentic and not ruined by tourism or the technological advances of today’s world.

Since the only way to reach this village is by trekking for 2 days, it’s not visited by many people. While the trek is not very difficult, you will be rewarded with epic views on the way to reach this mysterious village.

5. Pinnacles of Gunung, Mulu National Park, Borneo

The next entry on the list takes us to the Malaysian side of the island of Borneo. In the incredible and vast Mulu National Park, where you can find the Pinnacles of Gunung rock formations.

Mulu is famous for its vast cave systems, huge bat population, and rainforest trekking, where you can take in an array of wildlife.

To reach the razor-sharp spikes of the Pinnacles, you must undertake a difficult hike, and the rangers are very strict about fitness levels and weather conditions.

9. Ivvavik National Park, Canada

In a country with such vast wilderness, you can imagine that its most remote national park must be pretty off-grid to take that title.

You can find Ivvavik National Park tucked up in the northwest corner of Canada’s Yukon territory, and its remote location helps keep it pristine and untouched.

Originally named the Northern Yukon National Park, the park was renamed to the Inuvialuktun word meaning nursery, as the place is a calving ground for caribou.

Reachable by a small plane from Inuvik, visitors can hike, raft, fish, and take in the wildlife. The park offers once-in-a-lifetime adventures, but be sure to plan early as they limit the number of visitors allowed in each year.

10. Marble Caves, Patagonia, Chile

Found at the edge of Chile’s General Carrera Lake, these unique natural wonders are truly unique, even for a place as unique as Patagonia.

Visitors can kayak through the stunning caves and caverns, and see marble in its purest form, whereas the polish you see is only from the thousands of years that the waves have been meeting the rock.

However, a new study has the scoop on what attractions travelers must visit and what is ok to miss.

The luggage company Stasher has recently published a ranking of the 99 tourist attractions across the globe to determine which attractions are truly worth visiting.

For the analysis, experts at Stasher considered different location data, recent Google reviews, TikTok popularity, and distance from the nearest international airport.

Travelers’ least disappointing attractions are primarily in Europe, and two of the worst are in the United States.

If you are visiting one of these countries and have just a few hours to visit the main attractions, these are the ones that you shouldn’t miss:

1) Hungarian Parliament Building – Hungary

This beautiful neo-gothic building got the highest score in the ranking: 7.34. The House of Parliament has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987 and its history is quite interesting.

2) Grand Bazaar – Turkey

Visiting one of the world’s oldest shopping malls hasn’t been many tourists’ favorite experience and has been poorly rated, earning 2.8 points in the ranking.

Tourists are concerned about safety in this attraction and seem to prefer other destinations in Turkey.

3) Taj Mahal – India

The famous Taj Mahal hasn’t exceeded visitors’ expectations. In the study, one of the factors considered is the distance from the airport tourists must travel over 130 miles to get there.

4) Busch Gardens – United States

With 4.52 points, this theme park in Tampa Bay ranked near the bottom. Florida had the worst quality for accommodation, and it had an impact on its attractions.

5) Lotte World – South Korea

Another theme park is poorly ranked. Lotte World, also called “Magic Island” is one of the top attractions in Seoul, but has earned just 4.8/10 points in this ranking.

Neighborhoods

Orlando has always had diverse neighborhoods, but now they are becoming nationally known. Places like Creative Village in Downtown Orlando are constantly on TV due to their quickly developing status as a place to do business, live in, and study.

Other neighborhoods like Lake Nona are growing at an exaggerated rate. Places like Boxi Park and the Lake Nona Wave Hotel give locals and travelers a reason to head over with innovative food options and plenty of things to do.

As mentioned, two Michelin stars were awarded in Orlando, belonging to Kadence and Soseki. Both are sushi spots, and they are a must-visit if you’re in town. Other destinations like Mills 50 are growing incredibly fast.

New restaurants and bars are opening almost weekly, with some having a distinctive style. EDOBOY, a standing sushi restaurant, just opened this year and has a lot of buzz surrounding it. The restaurant is creating a new style of Omakase, giving Orlando more notoriety in this area. If drinking with many children running around you differs from your vibe, avoid the theme parks and check out some of these places. Spots like AC Sky Bar at the AC Hotel by Marriott Orlando Downtown have a strict no-kid policy and offer fantastic cityscape views of Orlando.

Imagine a world with no Yellowstone National Park, Stonehenge, Machu Picchu, or Egypt’s Pyramids. While it is easy to take some of these destinations for granted, their survival is not guaranteed. Luckily, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, better known as UNESCO, works to identify, protect, and preserve cultural and natural heritage around the world.

What A UNESCO Designation Means

The idea behind UNESCO is to promote peace and security by increasing intercultural education and understanding of our shared world heritage. In an attempt to safeguard our world heritage for ourselves and for future generations, UNESCO designates certain sites of cultural and natural importance to its World Heritage List. Ideally, sites on the list receive special protection through their recognition, but that is not always the case.

UNESCO World Heritage In Danger

In addition to maintaining the World Heritage List, UNESCO also identifies sites that are in danger. Development, conflict, and natural disasters are all reasons why a World Heritage Site could be in danger. Just this week, UNESCO placed three new sites on the list of World Heritage In Danger.

The Ukranian Port City of Odessa, the Landmarks of the Ancient Kingdom of Saba in Yemen, and the Rachid Karameh International Fair of Tripoli in Lebanon were all simultaneously given UNESCO status and placed on the World Heritage In Danger list. If urgent action is not taken, these important sites could be damaged or lost forever.

Some of the sites on the World Heritage in Danger list are currently not safe for tourists to visit because of political conflict. However, many of the sites are accessible and can be rewarding destinations to visit. We’ve included some of each in hopes that political conflicts will give way to peace so that we can explore all the beautiful sites the world has to offer.

Historic Center Of Vienna, Austria
- What is it: Vienna’s historic center has been an important location for centuries. Notably, Vienna played an important role in musical history and is home to significant Baroque castles and other architectural gems.
